I love anything RPG related and this book didn't disappoint.

Alternate realities, real world meets fantasy, mystery, intrigue, a battle of intellect and skill. Unable to put down.

2.5 out of 5 stars.

I received a copy of this through NetGalley for an honest review.

I really struggled to get into this story sadly. I felt that the dynamic between Hazel and Holly was lacking, particularly at the beginning. Certain parts of the story seemed a little rushed. Hazel as a character didn't appeal to me. There seemed like a real disconnect with regards to their Mother and them.

I do love the story idea, I think it just fell a little short with it's characters.

(I would like to try and read this story again though, because I'm not sure if perhaps my mood, at the time of reading, was preventing me from connecting as well as I could have with the characters)

3.5 out of 5 stars.

I am a huge fan of Roseblood by AG Howard, so I had higher expectations for this book. There were times when the flow of the story felt a little out of place, so I struggled to be motivated by the events unfolding.

I think I will carry on with the series, because there is enough intrigue with regards to Wonderland, but I found the character dynamic's a little stagnant at times.

A classic that has stood the test of time, however nonsensical and stilting the style of writing is. I enjoyed it but did not love it. Unsure if I would read the entire series.

WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER!

This was a little slow to start with and I wasn't sure exactly how I was feeling about it for the first 40 or so pages, but then it really started to pick up and I was on a wild ride of emotions, and I loved every second of it. And for once I didn't see the twist at the end!

I was stupid and didn't purchase the rest of the trilogy, in case it didn't live up to the hype, but that was foolish, and I regret my actions. This is everything. I love the style that it is written in, it reads like an epic sci fi TV series.

Even the smallest of characters, you become attached to. I honestly can't wait to read the next two. Action packed, filled with sarcasm, and death, a lot of death. Get yourself some snacks, you're going to need them.

I haven't read a murder mystery in a while that has left me unable to put the book down, but Spectacle did just that.

Twists and turns, with a taste of the supernatural thrown in for good measure. A Parisian thriller that will draw the reader in and leave them wanting for more. A refreshing new addition to the genre.

Quick read, action packed, loved it.

Dark, raw and real.

I adored The Black Witch when I read it, so I was so glad to hear both Wandfasted and Light Mage were being made into one book - The Rebel Mages!

Laurie has built a lush immense world, and I can't get enough of it. It's like Lord Of The Rings meets Harry Potter and I adore it!

I can't wait to read The Iron Flower right now!

3.5/5 stars.

A funny and interesting look into one of the industries greatest comedienne's. I enjoyed the lighthearted tone of the book.

The only thing keeping this from being a full 4/5 star read is that it jumped a lot from time and place, back and forth. And I'm just one of those difficult people who prefer a little more structure to timelines.

I cannot recommend this series enough! I adore it!

The world building is so well in depth, the variety of races, cultures and religions is immense. I adored The Black Witch, The Rebel Mages and The Iron Flower doesn't disappoint.

This is definitely a series for lovers of epic fantasy. Lord of the Rings meets Harry Potter meets Game of Thrones. It is everything.
