Witty, heart warming and mysterious.

A fantastic middle grade book perfect for introducing young readers to the mystery genre. Filled with good humour and a wonderful friendship to tie everything together.

Witty, insightful and much needed.

I follow Lewis on social media and was so excited that he was going to be sharing his story in the form of a graphic novel. Read the voices in my head exactly as they are in his skits haha.

If you're looking for a great book that explains some aspects of being a trans male, in an easy to read format and fantastically illustrated by the author himself - then pick this up!

(Read diverse books all year not just for Pride people.)

Everything we needed and more.

If you're looking for a book filled with mystery, diverse characters and set in a magical school with a best friend trio - then this is for you.

Ella's journey through her first year at the Arcanum is non stop action. This world is rich and fully fledged with magical creatures, marvellous abilities and very real, raw, experiences.

The way that Ella is treated by students and teachers alike really drew a lot of parallels with my childhood as we as struggles that continue to this day. This book really made me feel things.

Book 2 cannot come quick enough!

I received an eARC through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars.

A dedication to all goth girls out there and a heartfelt tribute to mental illness, in all its various forms.

This story has wit, sass, nerdy fun but it also has really deep and meaningful conversations throughout. It truly highlights the highs and lows of being a foster child and the desperate need for connection that can sometimes come from those situations.

I truly adored the characters growth throughout and the very raw and real ending.

4/4.5 stars.

Jam packed with action, wit and positive representation.

The World building is immense, so much thought has been put into the history and the plethora of cultures. Such a fully fleshed out galaxy really pulls the reader in.

The only reason this story doesn't get the full 5 stars from me is that I felt there was so much information loaded in straight from the go, that some of the connections between characters seemed rushed. I felt some characters didn't get their chance to shine and some relationships were fast tracked so quickly that it didn't feel as genuine as it should have.

But I did really enjoy the book and look forward to the sequel.

I received an eARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me this opportunity.

4.5 stars.

Full of high stakes action, beautiful heartfelt moment and delicious food.

This sequel did not disappoint - beautifully written and that ending was so wonderfully written.

I am salty that my favourite character didn't get the ending they deserved but I am so glad we got to explore a dynamic that really drew me in, in Six Crimson Cranes.

Overall a magnificent ending to this duology. For those who enjoy magical journeys with fantastic folklore and wonderful connections - you will enjoy this.

Mysterious, magical and emotional.

I adore the beautiful world that Lim portrays in this story, the descriptions of food will leave you ravenous. I enjoyed the growth of the main character throughout and the connections between characters.

I look forward to the sequel greatly because I am hopeful that a character I instantly wanted to know more about, will be featured more heavily.

Perfect for fans of fantasy, mythology and hesitant love.

An ending that only Jay and Amie could bring.

Twists and turns but above all else - love.

I adored this trilogy and the sci-fi space adventure it took us on. 312 forever.

For lovers of fast paced action, unexpected plot twists and witty loveable characters - try this trilogy. You won't be disappointed.

A twisted topsy-turvy world where you don't know who to root for.

I loved the originality of the story, the twists and turns, however I felt that some of the chemistry between characters needed a little more refining. But I did really love the story and I cannot wait for the sequel.
