Adventurous and filled with magic and mystery.
The main character takes a while to blossom and become likeable, for the beginning half of the book she mostly read very bland. But she does grow on you and comes through in the later part of the book.
The pacing of this book isn't consistent, there were really slow sections that were drug out and things that perhaps could have been more, were over in a split second.
Overall I enjoyed the magic elements and the history behind their world.

Funny, heartfelt and inspiring.
This brilliant story of courage and kindness was so fun to read. Coupled with the gorgeous illustrations it really told a wonderful story of friendship and familial bonds.

Slow paced and gritty.
The flow of the story isn't consistent which sometimes led to it being a little difficult to read. I enjoyed Darwin's character and his story more so than Yejide's. I wanted more from her due to her role within the story.
For those who enjoy magical realism with far more realism than magic - and gritty stories that have dark underlying themes - this could be for you.

I really enjoyed this book but I feel it could have been spread out to be either a duology or a trilogy, giving the ending. At times it felt a little rushed and I wanted more time spent with the characters getting to know them, and feeling their dynamics.
So much happens in this story that I would have loved to see it spread out more so we can truly feel the depths of it.
But overall really beautiful, filled with amazing lore and gorgeous world building.

I haven't read the Rainbow Rowell series that this book is referencing but they have been on my TBR for ages and this manga made me want to read them even more!
It tackles some tricky topics but is beautifully illustrated and has a lot of heart to it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for Vol 2!

Phenomenal, heart felt but also beautifully sad.
I devoured this first installment and am clamouring for more! It will be so hard to resist WebToon. I love the complexity of the characters, their inner monologues, the gorgeous illustrations tie everything together.

I wanted to enjoy this story so much, it is said to be an untold story. But it tells very little beyond a bitter woman wrongly accused slowly falling into dementia.
There was no light to uplift the dark of this book. There was so much repetition and I found it such a hard slog to push through.
The writing style is good but there was no substance to the story, beyond bitter disappointment for the Queen and for the reader.
