This wasn’t my first book by the author and I knew I will be engaged in the story. The cover and description are a real hook for readers seeking a great mystery story.
Some families seem to have it all, high-profile business, a big house, children and a settled life. But, as usual, nothing is as shiny as it looks like behind the curtains.
An ex employee wants revenge after he lost his job because of unproven charges.
You can only imagine what happens when that comes to life and he kidnaps the couple.
What follows next is a rollercoaster of events, mostly from the past few months. The chapters are told in both main characters’ narratives and that made the story flow easier.
It is a fast-paced and uncomplicated read, especially if you love domestic thrillers. The twists are balanced in predictability with the surprising ending, I would say.
Overall, it is a good book that many readers will enjoy.

The premise and the description of this story grabbed my attention in seconds. I was intrigued to know what happened that night, 40 years ago when his mother disappeared.
Throughout the story, I found myself a bit confused unfortunately because I felt like there were way too many voices and the switch between now and then maybe happening too fast for me to actually follow the story.
It’s a good book that many will enjoy but be prepared to maybe create your own pinboard and draw who is who and where everything goes.

I’m so torn about this book. I’ve read older stories by the author 20 years ago and now and then over the years. But this really feels over the top or just following a trend .
In parts I love the romance elements, I’m always seeking thrillers and romance and if you mix them, I’m all set.
Did I get thrillers’ vibe in here? Not as much as I wanted, in my opinion. Yes, there’s the cloud of that attacker not wanting to go back to prison, and his threat keeps it all suspenseful until the end. But there’s also a lot of other normal life going on in here. People find attractions everywhere if they are really looking it ,and, like in this story, both Zach and Kate act upon it.
And when there’s a spark, there’s total fire. And I mean literally fire, because the story has lots of sex on the page. I’m all in for it if I’m to being honest.
Overall, I enjoyed it for an unexpected and relaxing book.

I always find it hard to express my feelings for the author’s stories. They seem to be the most balanced when it comes to butterflies, lust, angst and happily ever after.

The story touches a fes hot topics that are close to my heart but also it’s swoon worth and you can feel all the love that Aiden had for Hailee. And since second chance romance is my one of my favourite trope , I ticked all the boxes with their romance.
All the school drama, the parents interfering, the secrets behind it all, adding all the ups and downs of their childhood friendship that lead to much more than just friends.

It has been a while since I’ve read a historical romance and I couldn’t wait to start this book.
This is book two in a trilogy. It can be read as a standalone, but you would not want to miss where everything started and how they ended up having to find marriage and love. So start reading to get the full picture of the scenery.
Tabitha is a bookworm person, while Finn is a gambler and a normal fake among his peers. Their friendship blooms slowly, even if the chemistry was felt on the page from the beginning.
The thing that I really enjoyed was the added disability. I know that for some people it may seem silly and something that some may say “oh just ho with it”, but the author really portrayed the daily struggles of a person living with it.
And made Finn even more of a perfect hero in my eyes. He made it easier for himself and still be on top of his life.
Tabitha is carrying and compassionate, and I loved that she really saw who he was behind that mask.
Their intriguing interactions kept me invested throughout the story, and their love is well worth of your time.

A Romeo and Juliet retelling without the heartbreaking ending.
It is a slow burn romance with lots of family drama. The competition between both families for the contest that can help them thrive through all their financial issues takes the front seat in here. Apparently the stakes are set high and some surprises are coming along the way.
The secret romance story between Angelo and Mariana was the highlight for me and I feel like I am missing something because while the story has lots of interactions and scenes with their friends and family members, but the together ones are far and stretched out.
