Reread - I forgot how much I loved this one..... I love Henry so much!

Still breaks my heart

While I loved the plot and the way the story unfolded (except the ending, but that is a whole other conversation), the writing style annoyed me no end. I don't need a leading cliffhanger at the end of each chapter. However, I 100% had to know who the killer was. I feel like this just was not editted closely enough.

4.5
Beautiful ending to a phenomenal series!!!

I don't understand why this took me so damn long to get through - I was into the story, interested by the insights into a culture I know little about and I cared about the characters, but it just feel a little short.

I am completely, head over heals in love with Charlie and Nick. This world is everything my heart needs right now

My 4 rating is for the bravery and candid approach this book takes in talking about mental health and grieve. It is powerful and necessary, normalising the discussion of such tough topics. If I was eating it based on my feelings for the book itself, I honestly would need to give it a 2.
I wanted to love this so much :(
I saw Nic Newling speak at the Redbank conference last year, and he was phenomenal. Such a dynamic, engaging speaker, and the Newlings story is heartbreaking.
What didn't sit well with me was simply the writing style - I have found that I really need none fiction to be more linear. Which is a 'me' issue, not a 'this book' issue.
In saying that - I still recommend this book. It just wasn't for me.
