I 100% nothing this book. I didn't feel anything for the characters, the plot was nothing new or exciting, and the action wasn't that compelling.
I did not, however, dislike it. I just have zero feelings. Super indifferent. Zero fucks to give.
I like that this book does get good ratings though. I am glad people like it and that if does well - just because it didnt spark a visceral responce in me, doesn't mean it wont in others.

I think the hype ruined this a little bit for me. I really enjoyed it, however I think I had really high expectations for it, that, unfortunately were not quite meet. I think what let it down for me was the inconsistencies with the characters. Both male leads could read like different people in different passages, and that, coupled with the naming conventions made the story slightly disjointed.
What I loved however was the rich atmospheric writing and the inclusion of culture and beliefs. I look forward to reading the rest of the series, as I think it will go from strength to strength.

A one-sitting audio book, that is a rare thing! I really liked this anthology. Normally I am not a huge fan, as a few stories outshine the others, or there are ones I don't really like that much. With this however, I really enjoyed the majority, all getting a 3 or higher. I loved that they didn't all wrap up neatly. Clean endings are overrated.
