Throughout this book, I came close to DNFing it a few times, and I am glad I stuck with it. Although I still did not overly enjoy this book, the ending was unique and did bring a little something extra to the story.

However - This relationship is the definition of toxic. This isn't an epic love story, it is the story of two people who liked the idea of a relationship, and love, more than they did each other. Add in the idolization of martyrdom woven throughout the entire narrative and it doesn't translate to a heartbreaking love story, it was hostile with no one prioritizing their own, or anyone else's happiness.

Shaun David Hutchinson sure can structure a god-damn sentence. I found myself wanting to tab almost every page for the simplistic beauty of the writing.

I loved the story, however I just did not enjoy the narration of the audio book as much as the first in the series. Plus - Although I loved the story lines introduced by the new characters, I did get slightly overwhelming via audio with this volume.
