Sally Thorne can tell a story, and it kept me entertained. I liked these characters just fine but not the tropes/plot/etc. All of these "problems" were completely self made or even non existent. So it all just felt very unnecessary.
I think I would have rather had this story focus on the twins' dynamic with the romantic relationships as an aside.

What an incredibly beautiful and inspiring story! My heart broke for Ivy for the isolation she went through here with her family and her thoughts of who she is and who she's becoming. She was such a strong character, and I just absolutely loved her development here.
Absolutely spectacular!

Atmospheric, haunting, whimsical and completely heart breaking. This was a beautifully told story that chilled my bones and kept me on the edge of my seat. I watched the movie in HS, but I didn't remember practically anything about it, so I felt like I was taking in this story for the first time.
It was just the type of brilliant horror to start October with!

I thought this had a really interesting concept, and I loved how the MCs/love interests interacted via post-it notes. That was a fun and inventive form of communication between two people who've never met. But that's about all I enjoyed here. I liked the characters individually just fine, but when they all started interacting with each other, it felt really repetitive.
I just don't think this type of story was for me.

Ooo, another atmospheric, completely October-y read! I dug this so much! Ray Bradbury really knows how to write kids (boys) and their need for adventure, loyalty and friendships! These characters were so brave, even in the most frightening of times, and even though I guessed the point of it all pretty early on, that knowing didn't stop me from getting a tad emotional.
I just loved this!

Holy shit a second book in a series that's better than the first. I didn't think that was possible.

I stand by the above review for sure. I still absolutely think this is a stronger book than the first one. The character development here is great, and I really enjoyed seeing glimpses of Rhy and Alucard's past. The competition was fun but wasn't my favorite part of the story. I get that it was pretty much to make sure all of characters were together for the meat of the story.
Still, absolutely love all my favs - Kell and Lila. Didn't love the King and Queen, but I understood where they were coming from, even if I didn't agree with it.
Just yes to all of this! I'm sure I'll be re-reading it again and again and again.

I loved the town's history and all of these characters so freaking much! Zora is absolutely one of my favorite protagonists of the year. She's such a BAMF.
The writing was amazing. Francesca Zappia is officially an insta-buy author for me. Everything she writes in the future will be read by these eyeballs ASAP.

My little bi heart freaking loved this. Tanner and Seb were super cute, and I loved the different dynamics of their relationship. This story had so much heart, and I'll definitely be picking up more books by this duo in the future.
Oh man, I know I'm gonna be in for a ride when a book can tug at my heartstrings super early on. Which of course happened here. I liked the writing, and thought the plot was pretty interesting, but there was so much not explained here (which I wish were because it probably would've been a four star book).
Oh well. This was a fun time but didn't have a re-readability factor, so I'll probably be handing this book off to a used bookstore. Hoping another reader will have a good time reading it.

The first half of this book was good. It was a fun time, and I was enjoying it...then the second half of the book happened. And that was NOT a fun time. It became too farfetched and honestly a bit cringe inducing.
That, with the text speak and a magic system that made no flipping sense, made this book just not the book for me.
