The Christmas Annual and Funnies were just a great addition to learn a bit more about the characters' backstories and to have a little fun.  I loved those issues.  The old gods' stories really worked better reading chronologically where those individual issues would be vs. all together, so I took my time and read this volume concurrently when necessary with the other volumes and it really helped tie a lot of questions together.  I absolutely loved those one off stories!  I got so much out of them, and I can't believe I'm finally nearing the end of this series!  It's been a long time coming, but it's finally happening!

I want to party like a Dionysus party.

Woah the panels in this issue were trippy as hell during the party scenes. All those colors. The art is just once again flawless to me.

I'm really liking the build up of the story, and I'm falling hard for Laura's character. I want to see her succeed in finding the truth, and I really really want her to discover some fun little gifts of her own.

I definitely still have no clue on the "whodunnit" aspect of the story, but I'm loving just reading and following Laura and the gods' journeys.

Also, I reallly want to go to one of these parties. Looks like it'd be fun as fuck.

This was definitely an awesome continuation of the first two issues. I dug seeing more of, well everything, and gaining more insight to the characters in general.

Plus all the spoilery things I choose not to write.

I think this may end up being what I wish Bitch Planet was.

Oh man, this was ALMOST my favorite retelling I've read. So close. I just felt like it was missing something...an actual twist! Haha, the "twist" I guessed real fast.

However, I loved the characters individually and the plot. Thought it was all really good. I didn't love the interactions between the characters all the time since it didn't feel believable. But, when it's a retelling can it even be believable?

This was OK for a romance and a historical fiction book. But good god historical fiction is just NOT the genre for me. Or romance.

I was eye rolling pretty much the entire time. The romance moments felt forced and awkward and the time period was unrelatable (obviously).

And then my other complaint is spoilery, so I'll avoid stating it here.

I Hate Fairyland is one of the most deranged comics I've ever read, but it's honestly such fun!  And by fun, I mean you have to be really OK with on page violence, death, gore, dismemberment of both fairy folk and Gertrude to get the enjoyment outta this one.

But, I don't mind any of those things, so yeah, definitely recommend!

This is good, fine, enjoyable.

The movie is better.

This was a magical book! It's a beautiful story with such creative, fantastical elements. As a whole.

However, when I look at the parts individually, it has some flaws. I wish the romance just didn't exist. I felt it would've been better to keep a friendship between the love interests. I thought it was stronger as a friendship. After the MCs, who were very dimensional and interesting, everyone else were backdrops. The side characters were one dimensional and so bland.

This issue includes the villain.

(Read as individual comics)

Because I'm trying to say when there's diversity in stories: we've got a POC MC, F/F romance.

I love Vita and will probably continue this story just for her. I did NOT like Snotgirl 2.0 or whatever her name is. She was an obnoxious character (and is supposed to be). But ugh, she's just the fucking worst.

But Vita is a BAMF and I've got such a crush!

Holy shit, this book!

This book hit me so freaking hard. Kiki's story was so different than mine when I was her age, and yet, there were a lot of similarities too. I know what it is to have that type of relationship with a parent. And it can be the hardest thing to deal with in the world.

This was beautiful and heart wrenching and inspiring. And Kiko is most likely going to be one of my favorite characters of 2019, and this book is most likely going to be in my top 10.

This would have been a 5 star had it not been a retelling of Pride and Prejudice. It was a wonderfully fresh take on the story. The cultures depicted were beautiful to read about and the tight knit community was honestly how I wish all communities would be like. However, following this family of 7 actually meant following 1 with a couple more being fleshed out but then others bringing nothing to the story but a name.
