War, a tiger, and so much trauma.  This short story packed a punch.  It was brilliantly told. I loved the POV - it was matter of fact, but with a nod to the love of storytelling courtesy of their brother.

Love, loss, and family were intertwined into the history here and it was just so, so good!

There were are a couple stories that I really liked - my favorite being the Yuletide Lads!  I really appreciated that she delved into so many different folklore, but I wish a few were written more fully.

This is why I love Stephen Graham Jones so much. He wove an incredibly interesting, thought-provoking story surrounding grief, the past, and the future with some type of bizarre Eldritch horror that felt both disjointed and so wholly connected to and with the story that I couldn't stop reading.

I devoured this story, and when it was finished, I wanted more.

Need some spice for the holiday season, and ya love a good monster fucker story? Seriously, look no further.  This was so cute and with all the tentacles around, you know it's gonna be HOT!

Wickedly good and horrifying. When I saw this recommended on TikTok, I knew I had to give it a read. 

There's so much here in 17 pages. This is what you hope for anytime you pick up a short story. Something that hits on every page and is so impactful from start to finish.

Well this trilogy is finished, and once again no matter how much I loved the characters,  the pacing was so rough and disconnected.

I'm really happy I tried the trilogy though, and it's awesome to discover a subgenre that I've fallen in love with because of these books.  Horror romance is where it's at!

I absolutely believe I'll give this author 5 stars one day! I think their characters and concepts are already there for me, but I think I need to try their shorter fiction. Time will tell, but I can't wait to see what story they tell next!

Cute and fun for the holiday season with delightful characters and a squint and it'll make sense kinda plot.  The ending wrapped way to quick but it was fluffy cotton candy kinda break from the heavier things I've been reading.

Beautifully written and told. The last line really brought it all together.  Even though I'm not a parent, I was able to connect with this story from the adult child's perspective of watching your parent age, retire, and move on was profoundly impactful.
