What an absolutely phenomenal story!  Xiomara (X) was such fantastically strong character.  She's coming into her own here and being forced to deal with so much.  Her relationship with her mother was one that impacted me particularly hard, even though our mothers were nothing alike.

This was a beautiful story, and I'm looking forward to reading more by Elizabeth Acevedo in the future!

What a trippy book!  This was a strange, unnerving story that I thoroughly enjoyed!  Magpie may be one of the most unreliable narrators and also one of the more fascinating characters I've read read this year.

The pacing felt really off here.  The almost first 40% of the book was slow and dull, and I was so close to DNFing.  The characters were forced together without any time to build a relationship, so the romance felt unrealistic.

Just ended up not being the book for me, and I don't think I'll be continuing with the series.

This is a fun, fast paced story.  It's definitely not my favorite fae world, but it was fine.  I liked the characters, and I'm sure I'll try other books based in this world.

This was a fantastic novella that's perfect for the holiday season! Loved the characters! They fit so well together!

This was a bizarre first volume. I was a tad confused by how the story progressed. Cavo was a wonderful character for the first half of the story, but I didn't love how possessive he became.  Liam was just an entirely selfish being, but it worked. I'm not sure when or if I'll be continuing this series.

Like so many others, I've seen the Muppets version of this, but somehow, I'd never gotten around to reading it.  Of course, when I found out that Tim Curry narrates this on Audible, I knew this was the year I'd finally rectify that.  He narrated this classic tale so fantastically, and it's the way I would absolutely recommend consuming this book.  I imagine it'll be a go to for now on during the holiday season.

Oi!  Where to begin with this beast of a book?  Let's start with the pros:  it's incredibly well written and Gregorovich is delightful!  The cons:  it's too long, there are dated references that pulled me completely out of the story, the main character wasn't my preferred voice to follow, there's no real sacrifice or danger or fear of death, and ship pig.

This was so freaking weird!  Did I enjoy it? Heck yah!  Could I even try to explain how or what this is about?  Not coherently.  And honestly that's OK (to me).  The writing was good, the characters were  fascinating, and the story was odd and complex.  Highly recommend!

Cute, short holiday stories.  I liked the first 2 but not the last one (maybe because I work with attorneys).  If you're looking for a quickie to finish off your reading challenge for the year, maybe pick this one up!
