Informative and hilarious. Now that I have this book, I'll never kill another plant ever again.

This series has me in its grip, and I don't know why.  It's too long for me to usually enjoy but then something heart-wrenching or heart warming or horrifying happens, and I'm back in it!

This one is no exception.  The last 20% had me speed reading so fast, but because I almost DNFd this one, I just can't give it more more than a 2.5 star rating.

Mayumi and Faunus were really interesting characters separately, but I didn't love their relationship for most of the book.

I really appreciated that the author gives trigger warnings in the beginning of this book and one in particular is something that's not my jam at all.  But, I really liked this character in book 1, so I wanted to see what happened next.

That said, this book is 100ish pages longer than the first, and the length still felt too long.  This relationship also develops a lot faster than in book 1, and it felt a little rushed.

There's quite a bit that I enjoyed, seeing the characters together and continue to grow, but even without the one particular content that I knew I wouldn't like, this Mavka felt so naive and it made me cringe, especially in the beginning, when it seemed like the FMC was almost taking advantage of him.

I don't know. He felt years younger than her even though he's obviously not.  It was a weird dynamic that I didn't love.

Regardless, I'm going to read book 3 cause Kitty was too fascinating even in his small mentions.

The characters! The spice! The world! This was a fun time, but also a LONG time.  It's a chonky book and honestly, I don't normally enjoy reading romance at this length.

That said, I'm going to read the next book because I wanna know how the Mavka gets his humanity and his love!

I wish this existed for a younger me, but I'm so fucking happy it exists for all the young, queer kids now.

The exploration of self, grief, friendships, and monsters was brilliant, beautiful, and absolutely needed for kids.

And ya know, absolutely needed for us adults who never had these stories as kids.

Trans rage is real and with everything happening right now in our society, this book shows a grim reality of a post apocalyptic Earth where religious tyrrany has absolutely destroyed everything good and beautiful and special.

From the very start, the reader is thrown into a world of fire and disaster seeing religious terrorists chasing down a teen boy because of who he is, who he wants to be versus what they're demanding of him.

Everything that happens is brutal, gory, terrifying, and at times, watching Benji discover himself amidst it all.

Cat's Cafe was such a necessary read for me during this winter season.  I needed these words quite a bit, and yeah, I absolutely teared up.  This was a very therapeutic read that I need to add to my physical collection soon.

Disturbing stories surrounding nature and death that work pretty well together.  The gore factor was top notch but since I didn't love 3 of the 6 stories, I can't give this more than a 3.5.

The first story and the last two were my favorites.  They had really bizarre moments that I thought were brilliant.  I wish the boy, bird and scarecrow story was a little longer or it'd be up here too.

The meerkats and chimp/monkey stories were meh to me.

RM Virtues dedicated this one to the monsterfuckers, and boy was it ever! Probably the spiciest book I've ever read but honestly there's more here than just some wild sexy times.

Penny and Archeron work well as a couple.  Do I understand how or why, not really.  There are definitely gaps in the plot, but with their relationship, I didn't care all that much.

The world though, I'd love to see more of one day.

NOTE: I will no longer be supporting Freydís Moon, their works (past or future) going forward. That said, I don't know if removing the fact that I've read their work is the right thing to do.

A lot of folks have been more heavily impacted by their deceit than me, and I want to make sure those voices are the ones heard at this time.

If I've recommended this author to you in the past, I'm sorry that you've potentially spent your money, energy, and emotions on a long con lie.

Everything about this entranced me. The characters, the setting, the demons and angels, loneliness, grief, fears and passion.

Bishop and Colin fit so perfectly together. Their longings and hunger for love was so palpable in every line, and on every page.

Lincoln was horrific, and once again reminded me that monsters usually start out as men.

This was haunting and beautiful, and I hope we see these characters again.  There are so many stories here that the author could tell.
