Interesting start to a series for sure, but a tad too long. I enjoyed the writing and really appreciated the atmosphere that Bardugo created here. But it needed like 150 less pages.

I loved Darlington (what we saw of him anyway). Like a whole hecka lot. Kinda wish he was the MC we followed, because I didn't particularly like Alex. I don't feel she matured enough in this book, and she was a bit of a pain. Of course she had the most fucked up upbringing ever, so there's that. Seriously, what trauma didn't she deal with?

Also, Dawes was wonderful!!! Loved that character.

This story was enough to keep me interested for the next book, but I'm definitely hoping it's a more concise read.

What an interesting, beautiful, and bizarre story. It's so minimal, and yet, the world feels so vast, HINGES: CLOCKWORK CITY may end up being the most peculiar book I read this year.

The main character is a doll who rarely speaks named Orio and her mischievous companion Bauble. Although Orio doesn't talk, her fears, nervousness, and intrigue is very palpable throughout the pages, and I really appreciated that.

I loved the artwork and how subdued it felt. It was almost peaceful even when there was chaos on the pages.

I'm definitely looking forward to discovering more of Orio's story and picking up the next book when I can. I'm going to recommend this to most of my friends, and even though the format is a lot different than other graphic stories, I still think it's worth the read!

Yay a heist book! With diverse character! We've got rep galore here - Bi rep, M/M budding romance, Jewish rep, POC rep, yay for the rep.

I know I only finished the first of these, but I get why readers love them! This was an incredible story, thrilling and so very human (even though we're seeing everything through the eyes of something that's not totally human).

I'm going directly into book 2 and cannot wait to see where this story goes next and how Murderbot continues to evolve!

I thought this was a tad slower than All Systems Red and didn't like the secondary characters as much, but I absolutely LOVE Murderbot!

Aww, look at Murderbot saving the freaking day (and its friends)! I genuinely love how much growth Murderbot goes through these 4 novellas, while still maintaining just the grumpiest, most cynical personality.

I loved this and need to go get book 5 now!

This was wonderful! January and Gus were fantastically flawed characters and the story kept me interested from start to finish. Just really well done!

Also, I loved all the additional storytelling since the characters were both authors. It added a really clever element that I really wanted more of.

All the shenanigans happened here. Honestly, probably too many. Nothing seemed to go right for the characters every step of the way (yet conveniently they were fine).

I liked the premise and was super invested in the characters, so I'll definitely be continuing with the series.

I did not like the beginning of this story. I disliked Desdemona and her selfishness. But her character growth was fantastic, and I liked how the story progressed.

I think this needed more time to fully expand upon the worlds and magic and to more fully flesh the story out.

I'm definitely going to look into other stories by this author because I really liked what I saw here.

I really liked this sequel. I think the story is coming together, and I really liked the growth of Abel especially here. It still felt like disaster after disaster here, but that made for a fast, wild ride. Looking forward to reading the conclusion soon!
