The action just did not stop in this gripping thriller! It was dark and bloody and outright suspenseful. However, this book does jump back and forth from past to present a lot; if you’re able to pay attention and keep the timelines straight, then I recommend this book to you. 

So good. So. Good! I was anticipating a fluffy romcom but was pleasantly delighted to find this book discusses some deeper issues as well such as abuse, in all forms, and social determinants of health.  I highly recommend you dive in and enjoy this book too! 

I loved this story! I actually felt jealous of the characters, the summers they spent together and the bonds they’d built throughout their lives. Sweet, lighthearted, fun, and nostalgic. 

This was your typical enemies to lovers beach read. It had some LOL moments, which I enjoyed. It was good, but it wasn’t great. 

I haven’t read Nicholas Sparks in a while and Dreamland was a great way to slide right back in. Sparks delivered sweet southern love with a touch of deep rooted mental illness and I enjoyed how the two stories melded together. 

I didn’t love it. It bordered on the horror genre for me, not thriller. A long book with plot vomit towards the end. 

I may have found another favorite author! Mary Kubica does it again. This one had me literally gasping out loud, oops, and my husband asked me what was wrong, haha! A page turner for sure with anticipated suspense and some twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. Highly recommend. 

What a dark and twisty story! It’s one I really had to pay attention to while reading because there were moving parts that were all tangled together somehow. 
My only complaint is that I felt like I lost my place in the story several times as the characters jump from past memories to present times frequently. Now, I read this book via audiobook, so it’s possible my mind was just wandering, causing me to rewind and catch up again. However, I wonder if the physical book has different fonts to differentiate the “before” and “after” parts of the story. That would be helpful. 
But overall it was a captivating story filled with family drama and deep dark roots. 

Freida McFadden books are my faves! This one was no different. I was hooked from the start and, yet again, did NOT see that ending at all! A quick mystery/thriller that I basically ended up reading in one session. 

I. Loved. This. Book! It was so fun! I can totally see Piper as Alexis from Schitt’s Creek. Super steamy and smutty, perfect beach read.
