This book was slow to start, but the last 20% or so of the book got really good!  I was a little annoyed with Emma and all of her complaints about pregnancy. I feel like she personified the bad bad rep that pregnant women get for being whiny, needy, and paranoid. But I also understand that was part of the character and made her an easy target for ALL the gaslighting. 

And the GASLIGHTING?! Good grief, if anyone isn’t sure they can pinpoint when someone is gaslighting, they should read this book and they will completely understand the terminology. 

The premise of this book is absolutely fascinating! I loved the futuristic vibes and it left me thinking “how would I spend my last day if I knew exactly when I was going to die?”  Lots of deep thinking with this one.  While I know I’ll get crucified for my thoughts, I just didn’t like the turn this book took. 

Full transparency here: I don’t like reading about crazy rich people and how they spend their money and judge others. I just don’t. I’ve never been that kind of person and it gives me an icky feeling. 

Now, I read Crazy Rich Asians because of the hype and based on others high recommendations of this book. I thought I’d give it a go, maybe there’s more to it than crazy rich people. But it was a lottttt of that.  If you’re into lavish lifestyles, you would probably enjoy this book!  The writing was good, the plot lines were good, etc. It just wasn’t my cup of hot tea. 

I love a good STEM book and this one was fun!  I enjoyed the characters, they were quite lovable.  Looking forward to reading the rest of this series. 

I wasn’t a huge fan of this one by Hepworth, but the bar was set pretty high when she wrote The Good Sister. This book felt a little too drawn out and had very little to do with the younger wife and more to do with the whole family’s past. There were times I thought I’d really like it, but unfortunately, it fell flat for me. 

I dug it. Dave is so cool, and I didn’t even know much about him prior to reading this book. I loved hearing about his life growing up in Virginia. Also very cool how he refrained from dissing Virginia like most people tend to do once they’ve moved on to bigger and better things. The love for his daughters was so heartwarming to read and I enjoyed the way he told stories from his life. I read via audiobook, which I highly recommend as it has several musical excerpts and Dave Grohl’s voice of course. 

I found this book to be quite insightful. It’s interesting to learn how people go through a lot of the same motions as others when they pass. However, as a nurse who now considered “seasoned” the author seemed naive and still in the “new nurse” season of her life. This made me cringe and roll my eyes several times. I was especially annoyed by her lack of humility. 

I loved this sequel to The Soulmate Equation! The reality show vibes and Fizzy’s vibrant culture made this one hard to put down. Do yourself a favor, read Christina Lauren’s The Soulmate Equation then read this book, and then cross your fingers they write another one that’s just as good as this set! 

Beach Read was a good read. It’s interesting how books settle in your soul for different reasons. This one clicked with me because of the losses January suffered and I empathized with her on many levels. The nemesis to lovers trope worked well in Beach Read, and I often find that is not the case. In conclusion, a solid 4 stars that I’d recommend for anyone who likes a love story. 

Love. Love. Loved it!!! I stayed up until almost 2am finishing this story and I don’t regret it one bit. I was so wrapped up in this book, it created such happy anticipation that I read it in one day. Make sure you read the author’s note! Katherine Center will always be one of my favorite authors. I kinda want to go back and read it again, like now!
