I genuinely really enjoyed this! Even if I wasn’t a deuxmoi fan, this is totally my kind of book- similar energy to Cover Story, a Hundred Other Girls, Devil Wears Prada, etc. The story & writing wasn’t lifechanging by any means, but it was fun!

I do have a lot of questions about what was fictionalized vs not- it was hard to compare it to the true story since I believe it actually all started at the beginning of covid? I am also under the impression that 2 people were running the account, I’m curious about how much of the work & romance plots were based on real life.

I also found myself a bit confused by the mix of real vs fake celebrities & locations… the Kayla Cole character, for example, I assumed was a fictionalized Britney- but then Britney was mentioned? Not that big of a deal but the mix of real & fiction made me a bit confused.

This book confused me, it was so silly but had moments of being SO dark, I felt like some of the particularly dark situations were not resolved (Silas’ commentary on Ruth, how Ruth got into the situation, for example) but I did like the ending. 

I typically love short chapters and switching perspectives because it keeps me interested, but the story completely switching every few minutes gave me whiplash! Although, I realize that is maybe to convey how Peyote was experiencing everything? 

Overall an interesting concept but it didn’t change my life, and I don’t love that it’s being marketed as a silly book.

I wanted to dislike this one so I didn’t have to stick with the series but I am INVESTED! Love a last minute plot twist and I guess I will just have to be picking up book 3.

This book was strange, it had quite a Paper Towns energy to it and I think I would’ve LOVED it in high school. I didn’t feel super connected to the characters or plot, mostly stuck with it because it was short, but the writing was well done and very realistic which I liked.

I didn’t love this, but I’m struggling to put a finger on what exactly I didn’t love… an interesting premise, but I didn’t feel particularly involved in the story or characters. It seemed like things happened with little motivation behind them and I sat there thinking “wait what? How did we get here?” Overall fine but I probably won’t think of it again

solid thriller! The characters will just the right amount of unreliable, but I wasn’t quite as sucked in to their stories

I didn’t understand how/why everyone loved this book so much but i totally get it… I recognize that the premise is insane but I’m totally sucked in and will be continuing the series

This was fine but not particularly exciting, I know I should read The Scarlet Letter but I truly have no interest. Maybe I would like this more if I did? I need a break from literary fiction

This book was very upsetting but I couldn’t put it down. I was very skeptical of the premise but the author did a good job of making it make sense- as frustrated as I was by the verdict, it felt accurate to what would happen in real life. I saw the twist coming but it was still hard to read, I would’ve liked more resolve at the end but it did feel cathartic, and again accurate, in a way.
