2.5 stars. I can't lie this one was tedious. I zoned out a lot throughout the middle of it. The repetition as Ciri was telling how she escaped was annoying. We get it, they were hidden in a forest where no one could find them. I'm also getting tired of the cliffhanger endings. The action always ramps up at the end, the guys we're routing for win and just as they are about to take the next step in the journey the book ends. I tolerated this book. Can't wait to end it all in the next book.

4.5 stars. Wow, this was good. Almost as good as the first era. The only difference for me is there are more loose ends left. And the last 10-11 chapters felt like we started a new story. My love for Wayne was solidified here, as if it were ever in question. There were some surprises here but not as many since I've read most of the cosmere now. However, that doesn't mean it was predictable. Plus this is not the end.

4.5 stars. Why do they do this to me? This hurt. But I'm here for the return of ruthless Levi though I hurt for him too. I'm not sure this Eren adds up to the Eren we've seen over the last 27 volumes though. And if what he said about Mikasa is true, the same should be for Levi. Which it doesn't seem to be. But I'll wait to read more to pass judgement since the story is not linear.

I did it. Finished the second half of this in a day. With an hour to spare before the library takes it back. Anyway, the first 300+ pages of this was a slog. Then things got back to the pacing I was used to from the previous two books. I liked this. A lot. And I'm glad I finished it. This is true, traditional epic/high fantasy. It didn't end how I was expecting. Things all got tied up, maybe a bit too nicely. I liked it. A lot. I know I'm repeating myself. Do not like Starling at all though.

I may have liked this a bit better if I wasn't reading it during a readathon. Not enough plot for me and I just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough. The Bonner sisters seem almost pointless. As did Miel's roses.

I do love the writing style but with all of the above it often made me impatient and restless. Cause usually this type of atmospheric language is what pulls me into a syory. The similes, metaphors and descriptive language are something I really like. I could see all the pumpkins, every rose, smell the soaps, feel the water and taste the food. And I also really enjoyed the cultural aspects as well as Mile and Sam's backgrounds. Them learning who they are as individuals and together was interesting.
