3.5 stars. I'm really not good with anthologies. Especially not ones with this many stories. I did enjoy it more when I started listening to the audio book. It heightens the storytelling element of this collection. Otherwise, this is just another example of me losing interest because the stories end. It feels more like reading several books instead of one. But that's how anthologies feel to me not a fault of this one's.

My fave was probably the one about the girl who's mother passed away and then her soul got stuck in the video game. It was the most fleshed out and unique interpretation. I also appreciated all the south Asian stories since I have been exposed to those the least. All of the writing was great. I would check out full books from each of these authors.

3.5 stars
Not instantly in love with the characters like Six of Crows but a good beginning. Also thought the Darkling was creepy throughout.

4.5 stars. This left me with a complex cocktail of emotions, thoughts and spiritual discussion points. I loved it. Its not a new must have forever favorite but it's pretty damn close. The only thing that could have made this better is it being own voices.

I have to add for myself that this is my first foray into gay/bisexual ya male characters outside of fanfiction. And to my spotty memory, I've only read a few adult ones in the past. I hope this is the beginning of more. I could not have asked for anything better to start.

Wtf did I just read? This gets two stars only because it made me cry at the end. I don't know if it was too juvenile and immature for me or I'm just thinking that because I'm 34. But my concern at the beginning was this was the plot was going to be based on a huge misunderstanding and non communication. You know characters assuming things about the others with no basis in reality. Half way through I thought maybe I was wrong. And maybe it was unrealistic of me to assume she'd come to her senses and everything would work out for the best. She didn't though the outcome I wanted happened. I was so pissed by the last of this. But the most infuriating part is she never goes to get checked out at the hospital (that we know of). How ridiculous is that. This review is to remind me to not read shit like this again. Trust my instincts and dnf next time.
