Better than the first volume in ways but not as good in others. 
The origins story is not here so that took some shine off. But she's still new and young. However, wiser heads get through to her a few times which made for smarter decisions on Kamala's part thankfully. The villain is the same but his motives are not quite as unrealistic. So better plot. A bigger name superhero shows up for .5 seconds for I don't know why. I appreciate seeing them but again, why were they there? Some others show up but you feel they will be around more in the future. 

Liked this more than book one. Definitely more action but also more revealed. But leaving me with more questions that I hope will be answered in the upcoming books. 

This was blah. The chemistry was on and off. The sex scenes were good and I thought they made a good couple. This childhood friends to enemies to lovers. I am frustrated by the ending.

The search for his brother continues and that was the main thing compelling me to continue reading.

Aleksio is not that bad of a mafia guy. So this really wasn't a dark romance. And the mafia aspect from his side wasn't very believable to me. The other brother maybe but everyone else. I didn't get enough motive and planning from them, so it felt like the author had them playing mafia. Not enough background for Mira's actions to be believable either. The plot was just not up to making this dark enough.
