Well then. It's official, I'm hooked on this series. These past few volumes finally giving a glimpse of answers and the world around them did it for me. I really want to know what is going to happen next.

Best one yet, holy shit. I was not expecting some of that. The  world building expanded in this one. I think there were some questions answered but new ones taking their places.

I wanted a vampire romance and I got that. OR that start of one. The premise a flimsy and Stella is a bit too oblivious but I still enjoyed this and plan to continue the series. I need some more distinguishing elements between the guys though. And I wonder if this is going to be a reverse harem or just Levi as the love interest.

This one I liked the least because they're discovering a bunch of keys with little to no backstory on them. A lot of events were sped through in this volume. I hope the show expands on them. The first chapters art style is different, which I dislike. I was confused as to whether it really happened or not because of that and how the story moved on so quickly. Otherwise a good installment.

I have never read anything like this before. And I am ready to read it again. This was one of my 12 books recommended by 12 friends and its the best so far. I don't even know how to describe what I learned and what I knew that was confirmed. As a practicing green witch, as a person interested in the plants and animals on our planet, as someone open to learning and hearing many perspectives, I loved this book. IT gave me lots to think about and explore further. This may be the best book of the year for me.

I don't know yet with this one. I am intrigued though. I can tell this is going to get more dramatic. I don't get why he or his mother are acting the way they are. Or why Tsuki assumes her childhood friend framed her mother instead of you know just thinking he saw what he saw. Sure mom may have been innocent but the kid was a literal child. No chemistry to see in my opinion. But as I said I am intrigued enough to read a couple more volumes to see where this is going. Didn't love it but didn't hate it.

We get new characters which frustrates me who is still trying to keep all the old ones straight. One thing is its always a mix of weirdos and normal people when they show up. But we also start getting some reveals as to what tf has led them here.

Well this was exactly what was on the tin. I'm here for it though its a bit weird and ridiculous. Hoping for the relationship to develop beyond that. The chemistry is there.

I'm glad I finally got around to reading this. It was unique in plot, the setting, the romance and the magic system. At least to me. I wish there was more of an explanation for how the magic system for black people worked but I enjoyed this despite that. I was all over the place mentally while reading this so this somehow became a comfort read. I know, don't look at me. Yet this didn't blow me away. The back and forth in timelines threw me off regularly because they weren't that different and I wasn't picking up that we had switched. Speaks to my mental state again. There were quite a lot of secondary and tertiary characters that were named and I got confused with most of them. I was also confused about the relationship for the longest time but that I think was done on purpose. Once I put all the pieces together everything up to that point made sense and was very cute. The case had very cozy mystery vibes. I feel weird saying this about a book set in a time right after the civil war, with slaves still escaping and Jim Crow very much all over the place. But this was a comfort read. And I am looking forward to more.

This ends on a cliffhanger!! No wonder everyone is immediately picking up the 2nd book. I picked this up for the bts book club and because of the tea theme. I was not disappointed. The magic system is tied to tea and it was so beautifully used here even to do harm. I was not expecting the last 1/4 of this. Things got real so suddenly but still in a way that made sense. Ning is still a teenage girl, from a rural town with little knowledge of all the things going on the background politically in Jia. It's been awhile since I enjoyed a ya fantasy, so I'm glad this one I turned out to like even more than I thought I would.
