Not as much happens in this one. It wad Still good though. 

Reading this and knowing how shitty things are still today is sad and enfuriating. The ending is bittersweet for that reason and the fact that John Lewis and SNCC were falling away from each other. But again I have to say this is a great book. The art and the storytelling is top tier. 

I realized I prefer a volume where several chapters have a related storyline like this one unlike the previous volume. Another new character in this one, with a hilarious storyline had me cracking up at the ridiculousness. The tennis matches 😂. Also a cliffhanger ending for the overarching plot of this series. Can't wait for the next one.

Well things are much different. 

Now we get to more tragic and violent events. The expansion of the movement andJohn Lewis' group. People not following the nonviolence credo and even a mention of Malcolm X. As well as the march on Washington, DC. Learned how much John Lewis' speech was changed and about a man I've never heard of putting the march together. 

I liked this despite it being nothing I was expecting. Junko is a good friend because it couldn't be me, lol. This didn't blow me away. I know in a regular prose format I would've gotten bored and dnf'd. I liked this enough to be curious and continue but I'm not in a rush to pick up the next volume. Since this took 6 months to get to me from the library, who knows when I'll get to volume two. But it is a chill, relaxing read.
