This was interesting.  Not half as sad as I thought it would be. The main author wrote well about his past, present and future. Part 1 was more about his past and learning about life, callings and medicine. The 2nd part was where we delved more into his living with cancer as a doctor and a scientist. There's a lot of pholosifizing as one may expect but it's natural. Reading this makes you think about death and life and illness. And so thoughts, questions and beliefs come up. I almost wish I could be having these conversations with him. It doesn't end as one would expect but why it ended is not unexpected. I'm not trying to be fancy in my review, it's the way this book makes me want to communicate. His wife's addition at the end gives another perspective. One that is sadder. This was not a perfect book, but I think it was good enough. 

 This was better than good but not amazing? I am intrigued to see where this is going. No one is really likeable, but everyone is either relatable or understandable. I was into the story from the beginning though we are dropped right in, no explanation whatsoever. Following seemingly random people for no reason. But each character is written in a compelling way. I'm not burning with the uncontrolled desire to know what happens next but I am interested to know. Also, boy is this violent. Mind the trigger and content warnings. Some of it is towards the main characters and some of it by them. All are morally grey at least. Definitely could've done without all the fatphobia. 

Okay I'm into this. Still too much info dumping though. Also there's a sense of ridiculous. Like how everywhere this man goes and everyone he meets is related to the wine world. And he winds up somehow solving some wine issue, with a charming mix of ignorance and experience. The mysteries he's trying to solve and challenges  he sets for himself keep me hooked. And we've got lots of interesting personalities. Biggest drawback is how much I want to drink wine every time I read a volume.

I think I'm hooked on this now. Still lots of info dumping but it feels a little more balanced with the plot.  ​I need to know if these wines are real. We talking about cheap ones now and I may want to try one if so. 

I liked this but there is a lot of wine info dumping. If that continues it will get old quick. I feel like I could connect with the main characters if we focused more on them. Like I could have an emotional attachment to them and therefore be all in for this story. We shall see. 

The first 150 pages I didn't think I was going to like this. The relationship moved too fast for me. At least their feelings for each other. It seemed out of character for Bo to have fallen for this woman so quickly. Plus, while I knew there was a mystery aspect, I figured it would be a small part since that's how it looked at first. Then things changed. I see that the author decided the romance needed to be first for reasons of plot. They needed to be at a certain level in their relationship when all the other stuff started unfolding. I wasn't expecting those reveals or what happened to Kaia in the end. All that bumped this up though I would have preferred the romance play out a little slower.  That being said it seems the Consortium is doing better and making the members of Trinity work together and trust each other faster than them doing it on their own, lol.

I loved the chemistry between the two guys. We have a bit of a small mystery or two that paid off really well in my opinion. The reflections and discussions about faith, relationships with god, and even mental health continued to be top tier. This feels like she finally achieved the harmony between the discussions on belief and erotica and romantic scenes. Without being cheesy or preachy. I do hope we get books for Gather Jordan and Ryan. 

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know what I just read. I like the premise but so many unknown things I'm not sure if there are plot holes or we'll just find out later. We get  reveals but then I don't know what the significance is. 

This was a fun one. Finished up that cruise plotline. Becky(?) got to meet Lois, lol. Bond got some attempts at training. Intelligence dude went on a mission. And we catch up with what's been up with the school. This new woman reminds me of Umbridge. 

Lots of Yor action scenes. Another fave volume because there was a plot line through all the chapters. A little annoyed it ends on a cliffhanger but it's okay. We basically get to see Yor do her other job in more detail for the first time.
