This one ended kind of flat. I enjoyed everything leading up to it but more could have been done with this case.
We can fly
I now want to read the full original version of this book with all the other folk tales. I wanted to try this and see if the style was something I could get into. Glad I did. I want to know more African and African American folk tales.

This was deeper and darker than I was expecting from a middle grade book. Then the ending comes and I'm unsatisfied. Its appropriate for middle grade though.
It was good. Not riveting. All the relationship parts were bleh for me. Particularly the a good portion of the part when they were at Sept-Tour. It actually took me three weeks to get through that 150 pages. I really think this could have been shorter. But I am interested in reading the next book. The history and science are interesting as well as the characters and different species.
Better than the first one. And I think I'll like the last of this trilogy even more. Way more depth to Diana and Matthew's relationship. Once again the secondary characters are so interesting. The historical elements are much more in focus here because they go back in time. I was not expecting this entire book to be their trip. Gallowglass is my favorite, I love him he's amusing and straightforward. We finally understand Diana's magic/witchcraft.
Overall the book is more Matthew focused. Hence the title. And between everyone they kind of bring him out of being mysterious and a bit over the top. Diana is more a modern woman here, ironically, in that she refuses to be pushed into a corner and protected in their relationship. It made it all more realistic.

What I needed as a relatively new entrepreneur
Like having a cheerleader and someone who knows. A book I'll come back to when I need reminders. Great stuff

Faces of Your Soul: Rituals in Art, Maskmaking, and Guided Imagery with Ancestors, Spirit Guides, and Totem Animals
Kaleo Ching, Elise Dirlam Ching, Matthew Fox
So much what I needed from a book I randomly came across and borrowed on a whim. I definitely need my own copy. Its more of a workbook with anecdotes so maybe not for those who don't have experience with meditation and/or crafting. But still not so difficult that you can't figure it out with some practice. I love that its exactly what it says it is. For people who want to or like to combine their spirituality with crafting or art.
