Much more significant time jump here and a lot more confusion. It's all leading somewhere but I have no clue where. It's still a mystery what happened on New years. 

I enjoyed this next installment. Making the crossover even more complex. 

I enjoyed this as a fan; as Army. But I couldn't help having critical thoughts as a reader. It feels disjointed with us jumping back and forth in time between paragraphs. Which is annoying for a book supposedly set up to go in chronological order. I also see having a group memoir that's sort of interview style is harder to put together than a memoir focusing on one person. I'm not really the target audience for this was my recurring thought. As Army I know 95% of this already. This is more for record keeping and having a keepsake for Army. It's also a marketing tool to sell to those outside the fandom. A reference book almost. As with a lot of their content, there's less personal detail as we get closer to current day. The end, chapter 7, felt rushed smashing the last 3 years together. 

So as a fan, it was nice getting more details about their trainee days and how they look back at those times. There's clearly also Bighit input cause we get a clearer picture of the company situation going into their debut. And some more background on content choices. I think the biggest gem from this is more background on the music makinf process, especially everyone's experience thoughts and growth. This confirmed a lot I had assumed or speculated about some choices music-wise and about their feelings towards their abilities at certain points. For that alone, I'm happy to have read this. This book hyperfocuses on their music career. Other content and brand deals are only mentioned briefly in passing. This is already 460+ pages.

But I have to say I also had many thoughts that this is somewhat of a fluff piece. Not a bad thing. Definitely not my fave memoir. Like I said it's something fans can get as a keepsake and industry peeps can use a reference. 

Sucked right back in to this story. 

I cried. Of course I cried. It's good to be back with Fitz and the Fool. Slow start but that's part for the course in the realm of the elderling. It's different because Foyz is an adult now but half the people he is dealing with are the same as before. They have to learn to adjust to this change. And he is also not the known Farseer bastard, but as a loner and a servant. So again this change in status must be adjusted to. His connection to the next generation will be interesting to see. The overarching plot is still a mystery but I hope more will be revealed seeing as how we got some connections to the liveship traders trilogy. 

This is cute. The misunderstandings keep piling up. 

Continuing to enjoy this budding ridiculous relationship with Jinshi. I have to admit I'm confused as to why she and her dad work with/for the courtesans. Did she get kidnapped twice?

A little more depth in this one, now we're getting to know the characters. I do like the mystery element we get with MaoMao trying to figure out some herbal related issue. 

Wow, that was quick. I may try the light novels to see if they have more depth. But it was nice seeing the herbal/Apothecary inclusion.
