absolutely delightful. maybe it’s the 2am talking but I want to embroider this onto something and hug it to my chest

I’ll confess the prose/general writing style didn’t really do it for me, and this one’s kind of a slow burn.

But when it picks up—holy shit. 0 to 60 in 3.5, as they say.

I know I’m late, but god, this book is incredible. If it’s not already required reading in high schools, it should be. Heartwrenching and real, but so very alive.

Really wanted to like this because my dad recommended it and gets sad I never read his recommendations.
Alas: hated this. :( I’m sorry, dad.
Anyways pretty much DNF’d at this exchange:
“Someone: Is there any scientific evidence for this?
Tolle: Try it out and you will be the evidence.”
And then a section titled “strengthening the immune system.”
I’ll give it another chapter, but good lord.

An impressive read, especially given its age. Also nice to read something from so long ago that’s not painfully eurocentric! A fascinating piece with some interesting proposals, even if u don’t agree with every single point (ie the pro monogamy, anti SW stuff).

I’ve known about this story for years but I’ve still got no words to describe it upon reading. :’) Shit dude

Two words: Jesus Fuck.

This really is just a suicide note in the form of theatrical performance. Probably shouldn’t have read this now, given my current mental state, but it really is like nothing I’ve laid eyes on before.

Visceral in the truest sense of the word.
