This story is bittersweet. It has wonderful imagery and a decent plot.

This was mostly a character sketch with no plot. The characters were great but this felt like a pointless read to be honest. I hope it ties in to the rest of the books in the Cassie Clareverse so it was worth my time.

DNF at 40%. This is a slog and I don't care about anything in it. 

A fun little book where you can shut off your brain and just enjoy the ride. One thing I don't love about this series is how shallow all the characters are. The thriller side of it is fun. It reads very young--almost more late middle grade than young adult. 

This is a modern day re-write of Little Women with lots of direct and indirect Little Women references. I liked the characters and the way this was tackled. The 80s and 90s setting made me a little nostalgic for my childhood especially with the descriptions of the Chicago Bulls. I don't know if this will stick with my but it was a good read. 

Well, this is the first volume that I didn't really care for. The transitions between scenes and timelines were choppy in both the story and the art. That was my biggest issue because it was bad enough that I found myself pulled out of the story and having to re-read so many times. It took me twice as long to get through this volume as it has any other volume in the series because I just couldn't follow it. Maybe I missed something but it didn't work for me. 

I think this is the best romance I've ever read. The character development is so good. They all feel like real, traumatized, broken, flawed, wonderful, beautiful people. Penelope Douglas could teach a master class on character work in romance. You understand fully everyone's background and their motivations and behavior align and make perfect sense with what we know about their history, thoughts, and feelings. Damon is arguably the most problematic character in this series but I rooted for him so hard. The continuity of what happens on Devil's Night and the previous two books is good too. It is also setting up Will's upcoming story so wonderfully by illustrating his friendship with Damon. I just can't say enough good things about this book. 

Fantastic contemporary young adult book that skillfully addresses death and dying, grief, family dynamics, family history, and sapphic relationships. I felt all the feels.

 A good story about how Laura James processes her autism diagnosis. She reflects on how autism has affected her life and how she moved forward with her husband after her diagnosis. She also has EDS and POTS (hi, me too!). This is a good book for anyone questioning whether they might be on the spectrum or those who are recently diagnoses or diagnosed as adults. 

DNF around 70%. The writing was just so bad I couldn't stick it out even though the story was ok.
