What I love about a Freida McFadden book is the wild twist that I don't see coming. I have come to look forward to that and try to figure out what it will be. While reading this one, my mind was going crazy coming up with plot twists only to be left disappointed.
I found MC Teagan to be annoying, so that didn't help me love this one. The short chapters had me flying through this book, and I don't think I've ever said this before, but I wish it had been only 1 POV. I think the added POV took away some of the mystery.
I didn't like The Locked Door, and now I'm debating which of the two will win the spot of my least favorite Freida.

🍿 Popcorn Thriller
🔨 Misery vibes
🔫 Accidental Pregnancy
🔫 Infertility Issues
🔫 Mentions of su!cide
🔫 Abuse

I loved everything about this book. I'm literally obsessed with Roxilana and Memnon!
The way this one starts and builds their love story is great. Even knowing who will eventually betray them and how this story would end, I still couldn't get enough.
I found this book filling in blanks and answering questions I didn't even know I had from books 1 & 2. I literally can't wait for book 3 now!

✨️ Revenge
✨️ Magic
✨️ Soulmates

If you've read more than 1 Freida, you know to expect the unexpected when it comes to her twists. this short story is no different.
I did find the constant mentions of Noel's loss of his sense of smell to be repetitive, but the story was good and a little fever dreamy with the back and forth timelines.
inspiring tense fast-paced

Based on the 1976 Chowchilla California bus highjacking. The true crime girlie in me was screaming for this book to be released, and I was not disappointed.

With 4 POVs, you don't have time to relax while reading this book. A harrowing story of bravery, and I couldn't get through it fast enough.

Noelle Ihli has officially been added to my auto buy author list.

It's like an Emily Henry version of Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo...
I liked it, but honestly, the real MVP here was the narrator. the ending of this story is sad, and it's not exactly a miscommunication trope, but it's the same vibe to me.
Alice is out Sunshine, and Hayden is our Grumpy and they are the main story. Them competing to writing Margaret's life story is the subplot. How does one write a story when the subject is purposely leaving holes and telling half truths? Alice uncovers secrets and is forced into silence because of an NDA causing issues for her own love story.

Loved it!
The back and forth POV of Kate and Eddie were great, but the 'She' POV added so much to the mystery and suspense of this story. I went back and forth constantly trying to figure out if it was Sophia or if it was Alexandra, I was obsessed.
Chapter 24 was pure stress, I eyes couldn't read it fast enough!
Chapter 41 & 47 had the courtroom vibe of My Cousin Vinny or A Few Good Men. I could see it playing out in my head and hope they turn this into a movie so I can watch these scenes.
I need to go back and start the Eddie Flynn series from the beginning.

I love the banter, but I found this one to be seriously over hyped.
It's cute, and it's sweet. It's a grumpy meets sunshine spin on Sleepless in Seattle. Lucie is our sunshine, and I sort of loved her, Aiden is our grumpy but more of a false grump, in my opinion.
It's a slow burn that I was dying for them to just kiss already! Some miscommunication that I'm never a fan of but great side characters that added to the story.
To be clear, I liked this one, but with all the hype, I was expecting amazing.

I love an amateur sleuth story!
With that disclosure, I was pretty sure I had it all figured out with my first hunch by chapter 6. Obviously, I didn't, or I wouldn't be giving this one 5 stars.
I really enjoyed the pace of this book, and by chapter 19, that pace jumped up, and I just couldn't put it down. There were twists and turns, and I was obsessed with getting to the bottom of it. The multiple POVs adds so much to the story.
Think Nancy Drew all grown up, and one of her old cases forces her back into her old, sleuthing ways!

I'm giving it 4 stars. ya'll over hyped this one for me! The second half of the book made up for the first half.
The first half of the book felt like an unoriginal and predictable fated mates story. The second half made up for that with a few twists and more action.
I'm glad I read it, but if I didn't have so many friends that loved it, it could have easily became a DNF for me.
The narrators did a great job. I highly recommend the audio if you are going to read this one.

Everything started to slot together for me as it went, but I still didn't see the final twist. I'm not a fan of an unreliable narrator, but I had suspicion early on that it's the direction it was going.
