Weird, excellent pacing and use of time and explanations as we learn both more about the character and more about the pandemic situation. 

Take this with a grain of salt honestly but I think I was like halfway through this book before I realized I wasn't really in the mood for this and therefore not having a great time. Pretty fun I think maybe a higher rating for me if I had been in the mood for a murder mystery.

Very cute. Tame but sweet romance. Sometimes frustrating characters. Fun to read a romance that took place in India. Pretty standard fluffy romance. Nothing revolutionary. Occasionally cringey writing especially toward the end IMO.

I can't say I've ever read a dystopian Sci fi murder mystery before. I do think the pacing was really good and I'm a real suckered for a dystopian Sci fi. I love the idea of

creating a new world with better humans but truthfully i think people will always eventually turn cruel it may just take time

I distrusted everyone and everything which is a good murder mystery IMO. this was my first book from Stuart Turton but now I'm excited to read more.

This is so sensationalized for the incest but actually its just really sad and depressing

I think I really liked the start and end of this one but kept losing interest in the middle. Old money is always cruel. 

I could have sworn it was

carbon monoxide poisoning

the whole time but way to prove me wrong I guess lol.  I love zoje stage's writing and this one was spooky and weird and unsettling in all the ways I like.

Honestly probably learned more about religion from this silly little satirical book than any weekend I'd ever spent forced into church as a kid/teen

I'll tell you the absolute last thing I want to exist in the space of any book I read and it's an incel character. ESPECIALLY in a romance. Get out of here. Unfortunately I didn't like ANY of the men in this book except maybe Walter so RIP to my interest in this.
