I enjoy a good short story but this was not the one for me. I enjoyed the writing and will be looking up some of her books. But I just don’t like the way extramarital affairs were betrayed. Just not my taste.
This is my first time giving a half star rating. I’m actually a little conflicted about this book. It was good and a fairly quick read. But a little disappointing. I originally picked it up because the headline description is “Six book influencers. The trip of a lifetime. A secret worth killing for.” That alone reeled me in! Especially since I’m not really getting into the Bookstagram scene. It was only fitting. But it didn’t get “thrilling” until the last 50 pages. Which I will admit did make my heart race at bit at times. It definitely had some Woman in the Window vibes. But was just underwhelming for me. I did enjoy the writing. The characters were interesting and I loved the interaction between Lena and Memphis. I’m not sure I would recommend this book to someone who’s looking for a good thriller. But if you’re into mystery and want a quick read, you may give this one a shot.
It’s been awhile since I read a book in a day, and I read this book in only a few hours. I loved it!! It’s a perfectly relatable romance that gripped me in a firm hug and didn’t let me go. The highs and lows of online dating and the vast differences between the male and female experiences on those sites were perfectly illustrated. I hard core relate to Millie’s experience and the frustrations but also liberating feeling of chatting to someone online. Her friend group is the kind of found family many of us dream of having. And Reid?? *fans face dramatically* is the kind of man I know I’ve personally dreamed of. Does he exist in real life? If so can someone pass along my number? I can’t believe this is my first Christina Lauren novel! I can’t wait to read more! I highly recommend this novel!
