I think this one was meant to have a plot but it kinda got lost along the way.

Why do I do this to myself?

This was a cute modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast, I felt a bit of grumpy x grumpy which isn’t my favorite combination - but I liked both characters. I did struggle with this book a little bit but I do thing it was a complete me thing - it wasn’t vibing with my mood and I wasn’t feeling the chemistry between the characters.
I loved the fact that it was very women empowering - women can do anything that men can do AND that women deserve the credit and confidence.

Overall it was a cute book and one that I would like to re-read because I’m very much a mood reader & since I read this as part of a traveling ARC, it just hit me at the wrong time.

Thank you to Alcove Press for the traveling ARC for our group and thank you & NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I didn’t know what I was expecting from this book except a fun YA/new adult modern retelling of Tangled/Rapunzel but we got SO much more. Christina Lauren delivered a fantastic story of breaking down walls in order to find the person that you truly are. I kept trying to guess what was going to happen when she got to Kentucky and found her dad and it turned out to be nothing like what I expected.

I loved the characters and I loved their chemistry - I loved the development that both Ren and Fitz experienced and I loved how we saw their relationship development over the course of the book. I was legit shocked by the ending and loved that twist that we got.

Thank you to Hyperion and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Maggie North set out to write an absolutely heartbreaking and emotional book and she DELIVERED.

I felt like it started a little slow but once it picked up, I could not put it down. I love second chance romances and this is the first time that I’ve read a second chance between two characters who are already married. I loved that Toby wanted to fight for the marriage while Liz needed to find herself to remind her WHY she wanted to fight for the marriage also.

I loved the development of not only the characters but their relationship as well. I loved the chemistry and the romance between the two. But I also loved how Liz’s story reminds us that when in a relationship, it’s so important that each person knows how to communicate but also that each person has their own identity so they don’t get lost.

Beautiful story and I can’t wait for more books from Maggie North.

Thank you so much to St Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed Holly James previous book “The Deja Glitch” so i was really excited to read “Name Your Price” and it did not disappoint.

I loved the idea of living in the same house as your ex to try to win a million dollars (each!) even though I don’t have an ex that I would ever consider doing that. Olivia & Chuck keep breaking up and getting back together so it made sense for them to go on this journey to really figure out how to work with each other.

I found myself laughing out loud at the ridiculous challenges they had to do but I also loved how their characters and relationship with each other developed.

I was kind of hoping they would make it the full 30 days and I was REALLY disappointed that they didn’t. Holly - can we please have a version where they do make the full 30 days??? I want to see what else the production company had in store for them. Lol

Overall, a very fun book that was kind of ridiculous but that was the fun of it!

Thank you to Penguin Group Dutton and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I admit, I read this before The Prince & The Apocalypse, but I’m also super excited to read the first book AND this one again. (Annotating this time)

Wren may have accidentally married Theo (heir to the throne of England) but more importantly, he has her dog and she wants him back. Naturally she runs into Theo at the same time and now they are under the spotlight. Chaos ensues when they get stranded on a deserted island and I actually LOVED this. Not only did we see character development but we saw relationship development between Theo & Wren, and them and the side characters as well.

It was a fun book when you look past the “this would never happen in real life” but I love books that take you away from real life.

Huge thank you to St Martin’s press for the physical ARC and also NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am a sucker for Magical Realism and I love how Kate Robb writes it.

Brynn and her roommate Josh find themselves as characters in her favorite teen drama - all because she made a wish to have a happily ever after. However, the only way that she can go home is if she gives Sloan (her character) and Spencer the happy ever after they never got on the show before it was canceled suddenly. But let’s be honest, life is never that cut & dry because Josh (who is Fletch on the show) is the one that she develops feelings for.

I loved the late 90s and early 2000s nostalgia and I loved the character and relationship development. I loved that Brynn realized that people are not always what they seem like on the outside and she had to find her own way.

While I was never a fan of Dawson’s Creek, this book makes me want to actually watch it.

Thank you to Random House Dial Press and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I expected a book full of cute dogs and that’s what we got. While I didn’t love the story or the characters, I liked the premise of the book. Cora struck me as a very unlikeable character and I don’t think she was meant to be portrayed that way. I went into the book expecting that there was going to be banter and pranks between her and Leo (rival dog store owner) but it seemed like Leo was waving his white flag and Cora was still attacking.

Maybe it wasn’t the book for me - it wasn’t what I was expecting and I didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters. I wanted to feel the rivalry and the slow burn, but it fell flat.

Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
