I expected a book full of cute dogs and that’s what we got. While I didn’t love the story or the characters, I liked the premise of the book. Cora struck me as a very unlikeable character and I don’t think she was meant to be portrayed that way. I went into the book expecting that there was going to be banter and pranks between her and Leo (rival dog store owner) but it seemed like Leo was waving his white flag and Cora was still attacking.

Maybe it wasn’t the book for me - it wasn’t what I was expecting and I didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters. I wanted to feel the rivalry and the slow burn, but it fell flat.
