I absolutely adored The Guncle and I was so happy to see a second book (even though I don’t feel Ike it really needed a sequel, I was still excited for). This time we got to go with Patrick as he traveled with Maisie, and Grant to Italy as they continued to work through grief, but also try to come to terms with their dad getting married.
I love how Steven Rowell approaches grief and love - he does it so carefully and methodically. He really brings you into the story and gives the characters so much life.
While I had the e-ARC, I ended up listening to the audiobook because I LOVE the fact that Steven Rowley narrates his own books. He brings his characters to life on both the page & through audio.
Huge Thank you to GP Putnam’s Sons and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

If Jessica Joyce writes it, I will read it.
Second chance romance, roadtrip to celebrate a wedding for their mutual friends - so many problems that they have to try to fix (which not admitting that they want each other’s help).
Jessica Joyce writes in a way that brings a lot of emotion into the story and really brings the characters to life. You fall in love with the characters, root for them, swoon over them, and just want a happy ever after. I also appreciate that she’s not afraid to bring emotion & honest mental health situations into her book.
I absolutely loved Georgia and Eli & I know anybody who reads this book will love them too.
Huge Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Serena Kaylor has become an auto-read author for me & The Calculation of You and Me was such a good coming of age story about finding yourself & finding love from the unexpected.
I love Marlowe’s character, especially with the growth & development, and I really loved Ash - the boy in black, who wears eyeliner, and surprisingly writes love songs. Although, I hated how much time that Marlowe spent pining over her ex.
I also loved the neurodivergent representation & I thought it was beautifully done.
Huge thank you to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. And thank you to LibroFM for the ALC!

I loved Dead Romantics but I REALLY LOVED The Seven Year Slip.
Dear future Jess - please continue to devour everything that Ashley Poston writes.
The way that this book approached the discussion of grief & love was absolutely gut-wrenching. I loved Clementine and the relationship that she formed with Iwan/James. The present moments, the present/past moments, and the past moments - they all left me swooning and rooting for the FMC and MMC.
I loved the little snippets we got of Aunt Analea but so much I want her full story. I want to hear of her love with Vera and her monster. (Which absolutely broke me)
And the scene when we found out Iwan’s favorite color??

3.75 - I loved this book & I loved both Luke & Emmy. I loved their relationship development, even though we didn’t get much character development. I’m always appreciate of ADHD rep and cried when Lyla Sage wrote the exact thing about adhd that I’m feeling now.
However, if possessive romance is not considered for trigger warnings, I need it to become one. I loved Luke but I hated how possessive he was. That is ultimately what knocked the stars down.
Give me the sweet & protective cowboy any day.
