Spy Rom-comes are a huge vibe right now. What isn’t a vibe is insta-love — two thumbs down.
Audio was fantastic but the story had too many similarities to another spy rom-com that I highly rated. Not sure if that impacted my final star rating.

I really wanted to love this book because the premise was super cute. How ever, there were several downfalls that made me really struggle with the book.
- The characters lacked personality. I know that this is supposed to be a YA, (or maybe new adult) but the immaturity was abundant. I get that the FMC was chasing after her ex because she was convinced that she was in love with him, but it was the immaturity directed towards his new friend (the non-girlfriend even though she said they were just friends while being secretly in love with him)
- Chemistry between the FMC and the MMC (not the ex) was lacking. I just didn't feel it and it was hard to root for them.
That being said, thank you Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this debut from Jessica Lepe. I loved the "secret identity" friendship between Lucy and Fletcher. As someone who has been active on social media, I definitely related to the feeling of trying show the perfect persona online, while struggling with my mental health offline.
I loved the side characters - not only the friends, but the sisters & the families in general. They felt real, even if the conflict between Fletcher and his dad felt like it wrapped up a little easily.
I also really appreciated the strong emphasis put on mental illness & neurodivergent. I'm 100% in the group that is encouraging more books about mental illness & neurodivergent because it's time to normalize that.
I can't wait to read more books by this author. Huge thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the E-ARC and huge thank you to Forever for a physical ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars - I adore Sarah Adams. I adore her cozy books. I adore how she writes romances - my rating scale is stupid and I'm not giving it 5 for the simple reason that I'm not making it my entire personality. (although I reserve the right to change that if I decide in the future)
I love second chance romances and this one was just nearly utter perfection. Nora/Mac is one of my favorite characters and I loved her attitude that she can do anything. Derek is the ultimate book boyfriend and I loved his relationship with Nora. And the accidental marriage - I literally loved everything about this.
and no third act breakup!!! *cries in happiness*
Huge thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was my first Anita Kelly book (shock!) and I fell in love with her writing & her storytelling. I'm not always a fan of sports romances, but I really enjoyed reading Julie (high school basketball coach) and Elle (former college basketball star)'s interactions in the basketball setting.
I felt it was a little coming of age with Julie due to her discovering more about her sexual identity and I really loved Elle's story with depression, migraines, and of course her journey to becoming a foster parent.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read Anita Kelly's other books.

Holly Jackson ALWAYS delivers the best YA mystery thrillers. I will fight anybody who says otherwise.
