I wanted to love this but this was not the book for me :(

The characters definitely had an insta-love that was incredibly lackluster in chemistry and depth. I love a good second chance romance but this was not it.

However, I love the premise of the up & coming chef falling in love with the upcoming rock star.

It was cute but very predictable. There wasn’t much character development but I also enjoyed it as a light & fluffy read. Something that was mindless, quick, and I didn’t have to put much thought into.

I loved the side characters - they were fun and a fantastic part of the story. The banter was cute & made me laugh.

Hi. Read this book. Right now. but also, read the trigger warnings because *insert mind blown emoji* - but also, it was tastefully *wheeze* written.

Dark Romance vibes - unlikeable characters that you will LOVE.

I will never shut up about this book and I can’t wait to devour the sequel.

Mini Book Review, just the vibes

Fast paced thriller with tons of twists and mystery. Full of toxic characters made me continually question whether they were good or bad.

This was my first Stacy Willingham book but I will definitely have to read more of what she’s written.

Warning - this book is full of love & loss vibes, especially losing the person you love.
This is a beautiful book that gave me all the feels. The dual timeline to learn about the relationship before the loss made it feel even more emotional.

I recommend reading this when you need a really good cry.

Surprise Pregnancy Trope - usually not the vibe that I enjoy, but Ready or Not may be the exception. The banter and characters were all so good. There are some pregnancy and infertility trigger warnings. I thought it was well done but it may also be personal preference to how you feel about it.

Taylor Swift vibe and full of references. The actual story was okay - I struggled with the chemistry of the MMC and FMC, just not sure that it was there.

There was too much time spent focusing on their past relationship and not enough time on the future.

Loved the audio & the narrators.
