4.5 stars - another beautiful addition to the Midnight in Dallas series.

Review to come…

It was cute - nothing spectacular but was fun to read.

Damian is a half-demon veterinarian at a local animal sanctuary. Rose is forced to work at this animal sanctuary as part of community service hours she has to meet.

Damian and Rose also had a one night stand not too long ago. Did we mention that Damien has a hex on him that will be dangerous if he falls in love? So they enter into a FWB situation to prevent feelings and scratch the itch they both have.

I would give this a solid 3.5 stars - it was a cute story and while it had burn & spice, it also had a good plot. This would be a book that I would definitely recommend for a Halloween/fall season read.

For Her Consideration is a beautiful story of Nina & Ari’s queer Hollywood romance. Nina works at a talent agency, answering emails for celebrities. One of which is Ari Fox. Nina wants to be a scriptwriter but is still struggling to find herself after breaking up with her ex-girlfriend 3 years ago. Nina and Ari begin a fiery romance, the whole time Nina keeps wondering when Ari is going to realize that she’s just not worth it.

I gave this book a solid 3.5 stars for a few reasons:
1 - I loved the character development that we saw from Nina, but I wish we had known sooner just how much Taylor had broken her down.
2 - I loved the back characters - her coworkers, her friends, her aunt. They really helped tell the story and helped Nina’s character grow.
3 - I felt the beginning of the story was a little slow and the ending was too rushed to wrap it up.

Overall, I like the story but I did struggle to feel an emotional connection to the story. My current rating scale heavily depends on an emotional connection to the story…. So take that with a grain of salt?

Victoria is a self proclaimed bookworm. She spends as much of her free time reading books and she loves people watching and coming up with stories about their lives. She’s also miserable with her husband Eric and shows a very strong sense of dark humor coming up with ways that he could die - whether at her hands or someone else’s.

While at her favorite cafe, Victoria sees a very attractive man who just so happens to be reading the same book as her. She starts to imagine what their interactions would be like until one day it happens and goes farther than she expected.

This one got a solid 3.5 stars from me - it would have gotten 4 but the ending was very abrupt and felt incomplete.
Overall, I liked the story enough - the dark and twisty humor drew me in but I wish I could have had more of an ending…

I needed a book to break me from a string of disappointing books and this one was it!

Emma has a very stressful life and she doesn’t quite realize the impact that it’s having on her until she has to relive the same day… over. And over. And over. And over again. And every single time, her husband Dan dies at 10:17pm. It doesn’t matter what she does, he dies and she wakes up and relives the same day.

This was an absolutely beautiful & heart wrenching story. I loved Emma’s growth in the book & how it felt SO real. This wasn’t her living the same day just a few times and waking up & realizing what needed to be done to fix it. This was a growth of over what was comparable to several months.

The ending was hard for me to process but it was so perfect to the story. While I felt like I knew how it ended, I hated not having the 100% certainty.

The story was captivating and never hit a dull or slow moment - right from the start I knew that this would be a book that I would absolutely love. And could see myself read again.

Thank you NetGalley and William Morrow for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
