This book caught my eye as the ARC made the rounds on the blog. After reading the blurb I just HAD to read it, and I all but jumped with excitement as I found it on NetGally.

I found this book to be really interesting. It wasn’t like other dystopians I have read before. Melody and Harmony are so alike yet so different, and both of them struggle with the same problems, only they never talk about it out loud to one another. Separated at birth, they were sent to live completely different lives but feel unhappy with the way things are laid out for them.

Melody was the sister I seemed to get a better understand of. Her relationship with her best friend, Zen, is just so bitter-sweet. Her parents seemed to have just pimped her out and then taken off to see the world, using their daughter like an investment other then anything else and a lot of her friends don’t even seem to know the real her.

Harmony is different. Her religious order background is strict. She has so many questions but has been punished for asking them. Her parents seem to have no real connection with her and so she decided to just run away. I think out of the two sisters she is the bravest. She fights more, but she is also the most scared and unsteady.

I enjoyed this book. I wouldn’t say I loved it but I wouldn’t mind reading it again and I also hope there is a sequel because a lot was left wide open. I recommend this if you are a fan of dystopian novels. It is quiet an eye opening read, especially when you compare it to the vast amount of teen pregnancies that are happening all over our world today. Especially those being led by the celebrity teens. McCaffery brought up some great points in her introduction and great parallels in her book to the real world.

I wasn’t a very big fan of the first book in this series, Body Check. I found it to be rather slow and meh. But I decided to give the series another try and I picked up Fair Play. I am so happy I did this, finding it quiet enjoyable.

I think the biggest pro for me was the fact that the book seemed to continue on from the last book, only in the sense that it didn’t do a lot of rehashing and reminding. I really hate the feeling you get that you are reading the first book for a second time instead of moving forward with the story.

Theresa was attacked in the first book, and it is clear to see that in the sequel she is still trying to deal with the past. All the while she is also trying to move on with the life she thinks she wants.

Michael has wanted Theresa for as long as he has known her. If only should would get over her preconceptions of him and see that he is really worth her time.

Together the two learn a lot about each other and about their surrounding relationships. Family plays a massive role in this book and it’s just great to see great family dynamic.

I really enjoyed this novel. I will be reading book three in the near future now, especially since book two was just so much fun. If you are a fan of chick lit, contemporary romance then this is a book I urge you to try.

Book one in the bride quartet and its a great start to a brilliant series. I have previously read this before and recently got my hands the audio books and so I decided that I would listen to them all again, and I am so happy I did. Nora Roberts has a gift when it comes to concocting a great romance story. She knows just the right ingredients needed to hook a reader and keep them hooked.

Mac is so positive and outgoing in life, or at least she is as long as her mother or love isn’t involved. Her mother has a habit of using and abusing Mac’s love since she was a child and as the years have gone on nothing has changed one bit. That is, until Mac has finally had enough and is ready to finally stand up for herself and what she realises she finally wants.

Carter is, well in my eyes Mr. wonderful. He is smart, sexy and sweet. He is a high school professor adored by his students and he has a wonderful family life. Since he was a teenager he had always had his eyes on Mac, and now suddenly she is back in his life and he wants more then just a few glances. But Mac isn’t the easiest nut to crack and it seems he is going to have to use more then just logic to get his way.

This story is so cute and quirky. Mac and Carter are a perfect balance for each other and really show a true foundation.

I absolutely love Nora Roberts’ style of writing and her flair for writing sweet romances that never seem repetitive or dull.

As for Emily Durante, she is a brilliant narrator. She had just the right amount of enthusiasm, bringing the characters to life without leaving them dull of boring. Each character’s trains shone through her voices and she really made listening to this story all the more enjoyable.

A great audio book. 5 out of 5 for me! Can’t wait to heard the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this book! I want to start with that, because I just loved it to bits!

This is book two in the Madison Sister’s trilogy and it began at about the same place and time frame as book one so whilst there is a lot of ‘retelling’ its go great to read it from a different point of view and see the story further progress book 1.

Daniel and Suzette are so cute together. Both weary for marriage and love they find each other tossed together. But soon passions are unable to be controlled and the two find themselves in many interesting situations.

I think Lynsay Sands’ did a fantastic job on this book. It must be difficult telling a story that has already been half told, but whilst things seemed repetitive to book one, this story was very unique and captivating. She has such a flair with words that it’s always so much fun to read her books.

Suzette is so independent, strong minded and determined to do what needs to be done where as Daniel is loyal, honest and compassionate. Together the two are so entertaining and great to be around.

Book three cannot come soon enough. I am eagerly awaiting the conclusion to this fantastic series and I cannot wait to see what else the family has in store. A great read and one I recommend to any historical romance fan or someone up for a hot romance and good giggle.
