Teenage me just had to read this book. I wanted to know what happened to Britney, from your own point of view and after reading this book, I am still not 100% sure.
I do not deny that there is a lot of Britney's life that has not been easy or fair, but I will say her book was a bit of a rambling mess. If anything, it made me worry more about her. This is a woman who is clearly craving stability and love. She spoke of her husband, which she has now separated from, as her biggest pillar of strength (in the adult form). She talks of the freedom she has now showing herself barely dressed on Instagram. This is how she claims to e reclaiming herself. I feel that the damage of her past as not made her present easy.
There were parts of this text was really fascinating, but more than anything it was just sad. I feel that's he never received the support or help she needed, and she was forced into some treatments that did more damage than good. If anything it has now made her so wary of help.
My 3 star rating is due to the rambly way in which this book was written. Rushed in some areas jumpy and not at all consistent. If this is a true insight inside of Britney, then my worry for her has grown tenfold.

We are back in Virgin River and this book starts where Temptation Ridge left off. Paradise Valley is chock filled with some of our favourite townies, especially Ricky who is back from Iraq, a lot sooner than anticipated.
We also meet Dan Bradey, whose past is a little more than shady. He has decided to make Virgin River his home as he works on building a new and better life for himself. Finally, our new town doc seems to have rekindled his connection with a one night stand... only to find that the night had a most lasting impression on both of them and in a big way.
As these three men work on rebuilding their lives, they are surrounded by the towns folk of Virgin River. I have said it before, and I will say it again. I just love the quaint town that Robyn Carr has created. These characters have substance, background and personality. They are relatable. And the stories are just NICE.

The Virgin River series is a series I love turning to when I need a sweet, light read. Temptation Ridge delivered just that!
Shelby, our female main character, is a young, 25 year old who may be seen as not having a lot of worldly experiences but her life experience is so much more than people can ever endure. Having spent the last several years caring for her dying mother, Shelby is now ready to experience the world and heal. She is surrounded by family and friends, and yet she still seeks something more. Enter our hunky male main character, Luke.
Luke and Shelby are each others grounding point, even though they don't see it straight away. Both are trying to protect one another, not control but enjoy. and yet they both fail to really see what is happening.
Whilst Luke and Shelby are enjoying their romance, we also see other relationships bloom and develop. This is another reason I really enjoy these books. The past characters are still in play. We still see them, know them and grow with them. We are not just readers but actually town members of Virgin River. These characters become beloved neighbours. I love reading about their lives, their dreams and their troubles.
Robyn Carr has created a truly beautiful place, and one I will continue to visit.

Isabella Dorta was able to compile a beautiful set of freestyle poems which speak to different aspects of her life. The real kicker though? She was also able to have some of the poems connect to mine as well!
Be it moments in the past, current experiences of things I know will come in the future, there seemed to be a poem or two in each chapter that really resonated with me. And if it wasn't with me, it was with a friend or family member that I wanted to share the poem with.
Her ability to play with words and construct poems in such a deep and meaningful manner had me wanting more and more. I was excited to see that she has other books released and that she preforms some of her poems on her social media. I cannot wait to further explore the writings of Dorta.

When I was told 'Thing Hunger Games but with dragons.' I was a little intrigued but worried that this was yet another BookTok craze I wouldn't get. I picked up the book about 10 days ago, unsure if I wanted to give this book a true.
30 pages in and I was hooked! It wasn't overly cliched, the world was new and fresh and allowed for a new take on things.
I loved the main character, Violet. She was fragile, a person so easily ill or injured but also so strong, determined and stubborn. She wasn't what people expected her to be and didn't fit in the box that people assumed she belonged in. Violet always had an uphill battle but wasn't whiney or pathetic. She was resilient, strong and so honestly human. I adored her for all her faults.
When it comes to our secondary characters, they were just as brilliant and well written. They supported, they encouraged and they doubted. There was never an automatic acceptance of everything. I hate when things seem all too perfect and so I have extra praise for author Rebecca Yarros. She allowed for the different personalities, the strengths in her characters and accommodated all their needs and desires in order to bring about a new and incredible world.
I recommend this book to anyone wanting to give fantasy a go, to any romance fan or to anyone just wanting a great read. This was BRILLIANT! I cannot wait for book two!
My rating: 5 stars 🤩

This is the story of Enzo and his human family. He shares the highs and lows, the love and loss. His love and dedication is like no other!
This book was recommended to me by my brother. I bought it on Audible and decided to listen to it as I cleaned the house on Saturday. What I didn't expect to be so hooked! I listened to this book in one sitting. I just couldn't turn it off.
I needed to know what was going to happen next. I became so invested in Enzo and his family. Garth Stein was able to really give us an inside view of his character. He allowed me to see the world from the eyes on a pup.
The story is captivating. I laughed and I cried. I was angry and in love. I felt everything Enzo felt, and much more. This story was so beautiful, so moving. Until the very last words, I had tears in my eyes and my heart soared.
I recommend this book to ANYONE and EVERYONE.

Obsession in Death is the 40th book in the series. It always fascinates me how J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts) is able to come up with new and exciting plotlines. Each book leaves me wanting more. I love seeing the development of characters over time.
In Obsession, Eve, our number 1 detective, is back on the job. Christmas is over and a new killer is on the loose. This killer has dedicated their murders to Eve. They want her to know how much they admire her and work to please her.
This book allowed us to see how Eve has changed from book 1. Her circle is grown quiet big, and we are witness to her realisation to all of this. She is no longer just a cop.
I really enjoyed this book, I decided to listen to it on Audible and found myself sitting in my car just that little bit longer before and after work, to hear more of it.
Bring on the next one!!

I am not sure what I've just read! This book was messed up in so so many ways.
I can deal with dark romance and some of the taboo topics but I feel at times she went too hard. I also felt that there was no real story, just a lot of awkward and at times gross spice scenes. Penelope Douglas seems more into the 'shock factor' then actual story line or plot.
It was like a train wreck though and I just had to see how it finished. The writing itself was bland and repetitive. These characters were constantly licking their 'parched lips' for example. It was just armature.
This is definitely not a book I will be recommending to others or reading again. I don't quite know why it's taking the #booktok world by storm.
*NOTE* Credence is a full length, stand-alone romance suitable for listeners 18+.

I picked up this book as I had studied some of Wilfred Owen's poem back in high school. I loved the way they flowed and so I thought I would read a small collection. I was in love from the first page.
The way Owen is able to portray war and it's dark, ugly side is just so insightful. Owen served in WW1, a time where going off to war seemed romantic and adventures. Instead of writing about the adventure, Owen shared the ugly truth of it all; the fragility of life and the senseless loss of youth.
He brought voice, accents and emotions to each and every one of his poems. A stunning set of work

Brenna is back, and adjusting to life as the Jarl of Birca. She is working on continuing to help her people while welcoming the new people, the army of the fallen Sigurd the Black. While Brenna didn't expect it to be easy, she also didn't expect it to be a road filled with hidden secrets, internal conflictions and treachery.
Book 2 in this series was fanatics. I enjoyed how there was some great character development. I liked watching the different parts of Brenna that she exposed to us throughout the book. I also am curious as to where the next books in the series will go, after the way this book ended.
I listened to this book via Audible and found the narrator to be brilliant. She really added to the text itself. There were parts of the story I found to be predictable but as a quick read, it wasn't very worrisome. I will say The question of Brenna's ancestry was a decent surprise but then the continual change of names made it difficult to follow at times.
