Decent read for how short the book was and think the ending pulled everything together nicely. I loved the narrator for this story so that definitely helped. Many of the twists were predictable but didn’t ruin the story.

This was a fun read, and especially fun to listen to as it featured many different characters with different voices and accents. It was a series of short stories that were all very interesting and had spooky vibes. I don’t think this book should be classified as horror but definitely spooky and had similar aspects. My favorite stories were the chefs, the anstronaut, and the musician’s. Each story had strange elements that made the entire experience seem made up; I liked this aspect because it left room for interpretation.

The slowest of slow burns, one of the original slow burns lol. I enjoyed this book very much and while I struggled with the language at points, I still understood everything. I think I may have ranked it higher if I read it physically but I will be doing that at a later point. I love when narrators create fun voices for each character. I also loved the development of Darcy through the book and Elizabeth’s changing thoughts. Super good read!

I loved the setting of this book, it felt like the perfect setting for a mystery/ thriller and the author does an amazing job painting a good picture. I also really enjoyed the audiobook narration with all the different accents. I enjoyed the book overall but felt like there was too much going on all at once. I did not like that the abductor ended up being Peyton, it felt out of place for some reason; like the author chose the man that no one cared about or thought much of because readers "wouldn't see it coming". I think I would have enjoyed it more if the main focus was finding out who Elodie's abductor was but the whole thing with Isla made the book crazy. Also, why did Peyton make it seem like he did something bad to her if all he did was carry her home.. felt like a forced bit to further make the readers think he was responsible for something terrible that happened to Isla. My other two notes are, Jessica is crazy but it is sad she now has no children rip; and Isla really came up in there and stole her whole family omg that was wild. Decent read, and glad I listened on audio; the accents really help set the scene.

I love love love love the multi pov, i wish the author just did this for all the books even if it made them a bit longer. This book was pretty on par with the rest of the books but a lot more happened and the different povs earned it a better rating from me. I was sad that so many died including Apollo, but I like that the author didn’t just make it super easy and happy. Hera died horribly and I feel bad for her but she was also kinda dumb to trust Theseus as much as she did… like he was killing other gods you think he won’t kill you ? Oh and Theseus needed to die a worse death, that man is evil. I loved all the Hermes bits they were too funny. Not much else to say but also so happy they didn’t do the pregnancy bit until the end; I hate pregnancy trope in books so much but glad they get to have a happy little family.

I loved the build up of this book and I didn’t feel like i was fully re-reading the same story since there were different povs this time. I loved having the Dionysus pov and i hate Theseus so i didn’t care for his pov; i still appreciated having it tho since it gave more insight on his moves and how he works as a character. I enjoyed seeing how Hades dealt with his emotions and the building he’s done with Persephone in terms of trust…. but omg why is this many horny 24/7. Nothing new there but seriously he’s never not thinking about it (‘: I also did not need to know what turns Theseus on like please stay over 1000 feet away from any woman you disgusting man. Loving the Dionysus and Ariadne action tho, can’t wait to see where that leads! I am simultaneously not enjoying large portions of the book and wanting the next book so bad.

This book was good, just about the same as the others in my opinion but I think Persephone is finally growing and i’m excited to see her full potential. I feel like she’s been impulsive and annoying for the past couple books so it was refreshing to see her be… less of that. I think my ratings for all books might have been higher had I read them physically and not listened to the audiobooks but oh well! I loveeeee books with war aspects so I am super excited to see where the next book leads and think the combative/ violent aspects of this book were very interesting to read. I liked Persephone’s training, the fight against the other olympians and tension build up for war. I could have gone without the massive amount of poorly timed sex but I guess that’s been prominent throughout. I also liked that this book addressed Persephone’s trauma from being abducted and didn’t just brush past it or make it easy. Not much else to say other than I wish we got more from other characters like Hermes and Hecate who are far more enjoyable to me. Straight onto the next one I go, cause that cliffhanger is a big one.

I definitely enjoyed this book in Hades perspective. I feel like there was a lot more going on with him than we saw in Persephone’s book which made this one wayyyy more interesting to me. It was really a book of “how much can Hades do in this pocket of time he’s not with Persephone and how much can he get away with before he has to tell her” lol. I really liked his trials from Hera, specifically his fighting ring scene. It was nice to see him go through all these problems for Persephone but also frustrating cause he tells her nothing. I enjoyed the action and also the comments from Hermes in this book had me laughing… “daddy death”. Another tiny thing that made me rate this book higher was the part where Hades was trying to get the hot cake out of the oven, I was dying. Truly enjoyable and gave me hope for more to come.

If you want a read that's entertaining, trashy and has a lot of spice this is great lol. I know my rating is kind of low but I don't think this book was as good as the first even with all of its good qualities. I had given the previous book a 3.25, and had summed it up to the fact that I did not like how the voice actor read certain aspects of the book; but now I think I am not liking how Persephone is written. This entire book she acted sooo dumb and I was frustrated with most her actions, Hades is not without blame but oml she was being bratty and annoying instead of communicating like an adult. I also think there was a lot going on in this book, and not in a fun plot twist way. I feel like some parts were thrown in there like with her stalker and then the way Lexa eventually died; even though her soul was broken I didn't think it fit her character to fake getting better or to commit suicide. One thing I love about a book is character development so I was excited about the idea of Apollo getting better, but it felt a bit odd how accepting she was of him after what happened with her friend... Also, if this author doesn't stop using the word flesh and engorged I am gonna cry, I find myself saying ew out loud a lot. Another big pet peeve of mine in audio books is word pronunciation and idk if I am right or they are right but some names like Leuce and Alastor were pronounced differently between this book and the hades book, also the word magi; its silly but it bothers me if I notice. However, I will continue to read because I am still entertained and I hate leaving a series unfinished so I really hope it gets better!

This was the first book, A Touch of Darkness, rewritten in Hades perspective which was nice to see! I was happy that a good portion of the book had stuff not mentioned in the first book and we got to see more of what Hades is actually like. I enjoyed learning the small things like the fact that Hades already knew that Persephone was promised to him by the fates, and his inner dialogue for moments when Persephone had thought wrongly about him. However, a lot of the book was very repetitive and I think the author could've definitely saved a lot of time by making this whole series multi-perspective. Also I forgot to mention this in my first review but how was it that Demeter did not realize Persephone came to the Galla when so many of the other gods recognized her?? And when Hades took her away and they all saw it? or did she not see it or hear about it; I don't know that felt a little unlikely. The sex scenes were the same, I didn't enjoy them any less but during most of them I was just ready for them to be done and for more plot to happen (I mean how often can these two do the do like control yourselves lol). Will be continuing the series, and hoping for more plot because that's the main reason I am continuing; really curious what else there is to be written.
