This book. I am in love with Chase & Mack. I do feel like we were kind of thrown into everything in the very beginning and a little build up would have been nice, but everything after was so great. & the DATES. Omg the dates were SO adorable. Especially the ice skating one. I loved it. Chase and Mack had such great chemistry and I don’t think their inner dialogue was too much like some friends to lovers can be. The way they grew together throughout the story and Chase realizing how Mack has felt was an arc I really enjoyed. Thank you Erin for the ARC!!
I have enjoyed this series so much, but Long Way Home is my favorite so far. Derek & Jo have such great chemistry. I loved their chance meeting and Jo’s serendipitous connection to the group. Being in the know as the reader was such a great element and when Jo and Derek met at Sunday dinner, I felt all the things. Their backgrounds with their parents, I feel helped grow their connection so much. Derek’s character development in handling his father and forgiving both his parents was a great arc. I’m so glad Jo’s dad came around in the end too and was open to repairing their relationship.
Another element I loved in this one was neither Jo or Derek really wanted kids and they (so far) have stuck with that. I think it was so refreshing to see the epilogue not be about them having kids and normalizing couples making that decision for themselves. Overall I loved this book and I can’t wait for Katie and Dallas’s story!!
Thank you Melissa for the ARC!!

One of the best second-chance romances I have ever read. The depth this book goes into is unmatched and the history between Yasmen and Josiah is heavy and long. The way the author explored their history and their trauma as a family was fantastic. The way they navigated their grief was completely different from the other and I loved the recognition that grief is different for every person and it’s never linear. Their journey as a family after such heavy loss was so well done in this story and the chemistry between all the characters was so great. Definitely worth a read, but I suggest checking trigger warnings before reading.

I’m a sucker for second chance romances and this one was just what I needed! Evan and Gen have such great chemistry and I really liked seeing them figure out their present together while wrestling with their past. I love how imperfect they were and how they were together. I didn’t love how much back and forth there was, but it all had a good ending and I really enjoyed the audio!
