I loved this book so much. Although it did get a little slow in the middle, the beginning was absolutely fascinating and be ending was fantastic. An original take on a concept which has become extremely popular in recent years. I would advise going into this book knowing as little as possible. The characters are built with depth and I was hooked by each of their individual stories, not just Melanie's. A truly fantastic read.

I love Homeland and this book was really great. I must admit that if I didn't already know the show, I may not have enjoyed this quite as much as Carrie happens to be a favourite fictional character of mine.

This book is breathtaking. The writing is absolutely gorgeous and I loved the characters. The way we read back and forth between Marie-Laure and Werner both in chapters and across years really helped the captive me. The way in which two completely separate worlds ended up colliding was written so perfectly that I couldn't dream of giving this book less than 5 stars. Beautiful.

It took me a long time to get through this novel. I found some parts to be painfully boring with unnecessarily long and pointless descriptions. It did pick up a bit towards the end and I enjoyed it a little more in the final half of the book.

I picked this one up purely because I needed a book beginning with 'X' for a challenge, but I am so glad I did. At under 50 pages, it was a very quick read on the train home, but it was full of fun and gorgeous writing. I don't read short stories very often, but this one may have changed my mind.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, it had the right amount of mystery and I was interested throughout. I love the concept of this book, the blurb had me intrigued before I opened the first page. When I got to the end, I wasn't disappointed, but I did feel like I wanted more. I can't explain what it is that I wanted, but I just felt like something had been missing. It was a good story, it was a page turner, it just wasn't what I was expecting.

I didn't hate this book, I just didn't love it. I found it to be 'ok'. The plot was a great concept but at times I found myself feeling a little bored, if I'm honest. For a short read it was great, I think if it had been longer I might have given up.

I've seen countless 4/5 star reviews and can only wonder if I would have felt differently about this book if I hadn't seen the movie (which is completely different!) and gone in with certain expectations.

Wow. I flew threw this book. I bought it a little while ago as I was intrigued at how the story would combine the unusual pictures that were held within.

I loved this. It was a magical story with a good amount of twists and turns. It was a litle slow at times and some of the parts I would have liked more detail on seemed a bit rushed. However, on the whole, I thought it was a fantastic concept and I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I absolutely loved the use of the photography. The pictures in the book are unique, haunting and thought-provoking. They are linked into the story in such a natural manner that you forget the book has been written around the pictures and that they aren't pictures of the characters themselves. Such a great read, can't wait to make a start on the second one!

Oh my, I LOVED this book! The narrative is so beautiful, I was captured from the very first page. I went from reading this rather slowly, to devouring half the book in a day. Once I was in, there was no stopping me. It's such a beautifully tragic and haunting story. The characters are wonderful. I loved the story and how carefully everything was brought together at the end of the book. I can only imagine how beautiful this story must be when read in Spanish.
