I really like Elizabeth Lim’s books and this one was no different. Think Beauty and the Beast if Belle was an art forger and the Beast was a half dragon cursed without a heart partly set in an underwater world that somehow works.

I loved the first book but this one felt a little different. I wasn’t as invested for some reason. I liked the twist towards the end and didn’t see it coming.

I loved The Quiet Tenant and it is hard follow that up but this book did a pretty good job.
It revolves around growing up in a cult which pulled me right into the story. The characters from the cult find themselves in present day at a resort in Utah where one of the guests is murdered. Their troubled pasts play a crucial role as one becomes a suspect.
Solid second book full of suspense and life in a cult.

A woman attends her high school reunion determined to prove she is successful and right the wrongs of the past when someone begins to stalk her.
I’ve read a lot of this author’s books and enjoy her twisty writing. This one felt a little YA for me with the back and forth between the high school POV and present day. It was still a decent story but not my favorite from her.

A twisty mystery centered around a new mom whose husband takes 2 people hostage and then disappears from their lives.
I enjoyed this one much more than Wrong Place, Wrong Time and may be in the minority. It kept you guessing and the main character was a literary agent and her husband an author which was a fun addition.

I have seen this book all over social media. Gods v monsters is the perfect series title for it. You have a fierce FMC, enemies to lovers,slow burn a quest, & a lot of adventure. It has an urban setting and few other worldly parts and told from the POV of the two main characters. The books are really long but worth it.

Every year by her 18th birthday Evelyn is killed by Arden. She has lived so many lives and no matter what happens she can’t break the curse.
This gives off The Invisible Lives of Addie La Rue meets Divine Rivals vibes but was a little too slow for me and underwhelming. I did listen to it on audio so maybe it would have been better if I read the physical book. I did like the twist at the end though. I’ve seen a lot of great reviews though, it just wasn’t my favorite.
