Interesting, but a bit dry in places. Good to have suggestions of what to do, and examples of what people are already doing.

I enjoyed this teen romance set around the celebration of the Lunar New Year, with a nod to Valentine's Day (gone bad). It was interesting to understand more about the traditional dragon dances, and learn a little about the Asian cultures represented in the book. Beautifully illustrated.

I was sucked into this book, both the present-day narrative and the stories of Ebby's ancestors. The characters were believable, and even those who could be seen as the "villains" had some redeeming features and were understandable. Interesting and informative, and made me want to read more about the history of slavery.

Interesting. I was particularly interested in the portions relating to his childhood, and the racism he and his family faced as South Asians in the UK. Felt a bit disorganised at times, with the non-linear narrative going to and fro, but generally enjoyable.

A lovely fun emotional read. The lead character is plus-sized and has a mental illness, and both of those aspects of her life are written with care and sensitivity. The story itself is great fun, with the dream boyfriend from the pages of a book literally coming to life. There's a good slice of real life mixed in with the fantasy. And a bookshop! And a cat. A really good read, I loved it.

A quiet story in which not much happens, and even the "big events" seem part of the ordinary pattern of life. Beautifully written and narrated.

What a beautiful, sad, anger-inducing book! The heroine, Frankie, went through so much trauma in Vietnam and that was compounded by her treatment when she returned home. Especially infuriating that it was based on reality. I loved this book.

Heartbreaking and beautiful and tender. Real characters that I cared about, and one or two I thought were idiots. Nice touches of humour and a lot of humanity. Lost 1/4 star for a slow section in the middle.

Interesting and sad. So many individual stories intricately intertwined. Brilliant on audio.

I enjoyed this second instalment of the  Arc of a Scythe series, although not quite as much as the first one. Interesting to see the Thunderhead emerge as its own character.
