Unputdownable multi-media mystery. by far my favourite book by this author so far.

A wonderful book. covering 50 years and two countries with quirky characters and more than a touch of magical realism. Drew me in. One of those books I was sad to finish.

Interesting account of nuns getting involved in social action. Personally, I'm glad it kept off the subject of pro-life issues.

Not one of my favourite Chalet school titles, but still a good re-read with some memorable incidents.

Family saga set in the present, but reaching back to the past. Mixes secrets and lies, a dash of politics and the reality of getting by in everyday life. Believable, not always likeable, characters.

To me, it read as a distant account of Belle Greene's life. It read more like non-fictionwith some invented dialogue than a novel. I didn't feel any identification with Belle, and didn't much care what happened to her. 

Good premise and quite well written, but not really my thing.

So much going on in this book! The Faceless Man, Lesley May,  Mr Punch, rivers we knew and some we didn't, and one or two great new faces. And the lot weaves in and out, but basically gets where it needs to. Fantastic.

A slow burn romance with an older heroine,, and not remotely spicy.
Likeable characters and plenty going on, including a road trip around parts of England. Eventful enough to keep you reading even though the ending is as predictable as it is in any romance.
