I love this book. So atmospheric and Allingham's larger than life characters are at their best. London, and the fog, are almost characters themselves.

This is all the mote beautiful for being so understated. There is so much that the reader sees that poor Mr Stevens does not, but it is never spelt out. He is a hard character to really like, and would have been a nightmare to work with, but i couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He missed out on so much and didn't even realise. A wonderful book.
Incredible narration by Dominic West.

I read this very slowly in Spanish as language practice, with the English copy close at hand. Despite the difficulties of reading in a language I am not very familiar with, this story drew me in. So many twists and turns and incredible characters. b

The illustrations were beautifully done, but the narration felt disjointed, and didn't capture my interest.

I think this might be my favourite of the Will Darling mysteries. I love the evolving relationship between Kim and Will, and the insights into Kim's past and his family. The touches of humour are great, and the villains delightfully villainous.

I had this on pause for ages, but decided I didn't care enough about it to go back to it at the moment.

I just wasn't enjoying this. The stories weren't that interesting, and I didn't really care about the people.

Epic, in all senses of the word. Ultimately uplifting in that it showed the triumph of the human spirit in spite of a litany of injustices and horrible events. It took a long time to get through, but this book will stay with me.

A fast-moving mystery. A large cast of family members, the majority unlikeable, any of whom might have committed the murder. As usual, I failed to solve it. Enjoyable.

An enjoyable story about community, found family and making connections. Quite sad in places. I found it slow sometimes, and predictable, but it was still a good read.
