This ended VERY abruptly—as in, I thought that maybe the epilogue got cut off? I really prefer a HEA/HFN and this left me wanting...any sort of ending, really.

Tropes I love: fake relationship. Tropes I hate: virgin and man who sleeps around, brother’s best friend’s. The tropes I hate definitely outweighed the fake relationship in this one, especially given that: 1) the main character’s brother is a complete asshole, 2) there is so much infantilizing of the main character, including repetitive use of “baby girl” during sex scenes. And the term of endearment would maybe be fine...if her main struggle wasn’t that everyone in her life, including her family, still sees her as a kid.

I did appreciate both main characters support for each other, but mostly just...meh.

After starting the book, I learned that it included biphobia/bi erasure, as well as that the author has made some biphobic comments on Twitter. I’d rather read more queer lit that celebrates all queer identities!

I loved the themes of this, and the art was stellar, but I found the story somewhat hard to follow. There just wasn’t enough!

As long as Samantha Whiskey keeps writing hockey romance, I'm going to keep reading her books.

The main character was so whiny. Should have picked up another Cassie Cole or Krista Wolf book instead.

I read the first half of this book right after it came out in September, put it down for two months, and then came back to it in December--and I'm so glad I did that. It gave me a chance to really process so much more of the book, and to spend time savoring every one of Gaasi's words. Nothing felt extraneous; everything was meaningful and moving. I can't wait to read whatever she writes next.

I realized when I finished the book that Isaac and David's story is actually a trilogy, but this concludes with a HFN ending and honestly, that was enough for me.
