It was...fine? I’m learning that insta-love isn’t my fave, but it was fun enough.

It was such a disappointment that a large chunk of the first third of the book came from Kane! Had I not read them back-to-back, it might have been less noticeable, but it was literally almost word for word. Also, the relationship dynamic was way too manipulative to feel cute or fun.

I only really read this one because I’m a completist sometimes. The sex scenes were boring, Kat was disappointing, and ugh, I’m not into the virgin who got pregnant immediately trope.

I don’t understand why she gave in so quickly after ten years of him being a complete asshole, and I’m also annoyed that she had a life and excitement about her career and then that was just...gone? The only redeeming thing for me was that his addiction started *after* the accident and he wasn’t driving drunk or high when his brother died. But UGH COME ON.

I liked their thing, but it wasn’t a hockey romance!

It’s so, so cliche. The story is mediocre. There’s not much character depth. But I didn’t really expect much else? I mean, it’s a hockey romance novel and I’m 100% going to read the rest of the series because quick, fun read.

The troopers in this one annoyed me less than in the last one. Onto the next!

Petrov is way too controlling and also seems like he’s watching her given how he randomly shows up everywhere that she is? Too much weird drama.

Not mad about this D/s situation. Boundaries and consent, hooray! Bummer that the epilogue was just the first chapter of the next book instead of an actual epilogue, though...

In spite of the weird premise, this one actually felt the most realistic of the series, and I really liked it.
