”Making a split-second decision, Dominic said, “I’ll be right back. Rebel, stay with Levi.” He left the bathroom to the sound of Levi’s tired laugh as Rebel tried to climb into the tub.”

you know what, this was a PROPER whodunnit, even tho i had called the killer from the start, this series still managed to keep me on my toes throughout the entire thing.
i think i might’ve chosen a few things to be handled differently in this final book, but i loved this overall far too much to even go into detail about those things.
this is the quintessential detective m/m book.
4.5 i-cried-my-little-heart-out stars
no, really, some parts of this book made my chest literally ache i was feeling so much for the characters.
we’ve reached a point where it’s been a year now that Seven of Spades have been active, with a body count now over 20, the whole thing is starting to take a serious toll on levi and dom.
it was genuinely difficult to read about their struggles, because i genuinely care about these characters.
also, i just wanna point out that no matter how much i love dom and levi, rebel is obviously the best character in this series.
what a perfect, cute dog.

Snuggling closer, Rebel propped her head on Dominic’s chest and looked at him adoringly. His heart melted despite the circumstances, and he scratched her ears with his free hand.
“I love you top,” he said. “I’m sorry I’m such a shitty dad.”
She closed her eyes and sighed in doggy bliss.

3.5 stars, but rounded down, lol
taking place mere weeks after the previous book, Suspicious Behaviour tackles a serial killer this time, and the mystery is... even flimsier, lol. i usually purposely don't try to figure out whodunnit, but this time it was just There.
this instalment was slightly more fun than the previous tho, since the mcs are already together, things didn't feel rushed relationship wise and the romance was solid.
also, their respective family drama was more interesting. i really liked erin, andreas daughter, who actually showed up more this time.
the mcs age difference also felt more present in a good way. it doesn't need to be rubbed on our noses all the time, but it is fun to get their life and professional experience more on display.
all in all, not as gripping as i like my cop novels to be, but cool enough.

3 i-wanted-this-to-be-a-five-star-read-sooo-bad stars
Risky Business has everything i usually love in cop books: experienced/rookie, a big dangerous case, tension, badass cops, and ir would’ve worked, too, if it weren’t for the weak pacing.
this entire book takes place in less than a month. it was insta-antagonism, that quickly turned into the lusty bits, and then got romantic right after, and that was just the first week!!
i might give the next book in this series a go, mostly because i just really love m/m crime thriller books, but i was expecting more after seeing so many people say good things about this one.

docked a star because this felt a bit over-long, but it was still pretty good
