alisander is now my favorite coldbreath character, mind you.

as much as i absolutely LOVE these books and i will not badmouth them!!! i do wish there was a smidge more spying. the tiniest bit more intrigue, but that’s just because alisander was just so very very refreshing! he and jeffree and armand were the best male leads so far because they, in some way or another, deviate from form.

and man, alisander is a SPY!! that’s just the coolest?!?!??? i did very much enjoy the knights but it was great to get one who wasn’t one…

i need to take a reading break before i go into the vawdrey brothers in order to actually Live My Life after inhaling these books, hopefully i’ll manage, because it’s so very hard to resist when i find an author who knows just how to write to make my brain fully shut off the bad and just focus on yummy characters, and this series is just the stuff.

oh this might be my favorite of the series so far! they just keep getting better and better i'm so happy i picked up alice coldbreath on a whim, she knows her stuff!!

oh, armand was a breath of fresh air!!! also very much enjoyed una and this one had a cast of side characters i truly enjoyed and cared about just the right amount, without feeling like i needed more or less of their stories within the pages.

never have i ever thought i'd enjoyed this type of romance book, though these are also somehow very unlike other romance novels i've read before. arranged marriage is just really truly my jam, oof.

aw shucks, now i gotta read everything else by this author

this was… good. chaotic good, probably. VERY good banter, which is something i missed in the last couple of books i read, though i wasn’t as enamored with these characters as the ones from the first book in this series.

it’s gotta be that thing, if you start off expecting much… lol.

i did actually truly enjoyed lord cyril, as he himself would say, the man is truly a delight. enzo keeping everything close to his chest and not giving our dawn mage the spoiling he deserved (and demanded!) was a downside for me, tbh. specially after the couple was so obsessed with each other on the first book, lol.

all in all, a damn fun book, i rarely truly laughing whilst reading and this one got some good cackles out of me.

they had us in the first half not gonna lie (but in the opposite meaning, as in i thought this was going to be better than it ended up being)
