CoHo knows how to hit you with the feels and this book is no different. Ugh, my heart.

Tbh, I lost track of some of the minor characters since there are quite a few but I enjoyed this nonetheless. I especially liked the drama and the intrigue! There was a nice twist at the end that had me a little shook so I definitely look forward to what book 2 has to offer.

I’m not sure how the two storylines are connected but I am intrigued to find out so I will definitely check out Vol. 2.

What an incredible story. How does TJR make her characters so realistically flawed, yet you can’t help but root for them completely?!
I am in awe.

Such a cute story! I think it’s a perfect light read to get you out of a funk, or for the summer time.
The audiobook is narrated by Elizabeth Acevedo herself and I loved every bit of this story! Emoni is such a strong character and seeing her develop throughout her story was beautiful to see. I can only hope to taste food as magical as hers someday!

I still very much liked this book. Upon reread, I have a new appreciation of the representation Hoang put into this story, most prevalent being on autism and sex work. I think Michael and Stella are a great romantic pair, the ying to the others yang. I cannot wait to revisit Khai & Esme's story next!
First Read (2019): 3.5
I didn’t mesh with this story as much as I was hoping to, but the ending redeemed itself which is why I bumped it up half a star. I still look forward to reading her next book.
