Okay so our MC didn't end up with who I was hoping was endgame, but nonetheless I still very much enjoyed this one.

The games and manipulation between Daddy Mac & Marist gave me the tension that I wanted, honeyyy. Miss Nikki Sloane must be some kind of k!nk fairy because the way I was rooting for Mac?!?! Like excuse me I know this is something I really shouldn't be into... I kind of felt like a sick weirdo for enjoying some of these scenes but damn it this is fiction and why can't we like what we damn well want to like!! No way in hell would I be comfortable with this happening in real life, but baby in novel form? I was eating this up like it was an endless supply of cookie dough ice cream.

Would I recommend this series? I have to say no because I guarantee lots of people would not like some of the content so be sure to check trigger & content warnings before diving into the series.

"Read to me."

"Why?"

"Because you go somewhere else when you read. I want to go there with you." 🥺💓

Ya'll this was such a cute ass YA contemporary featuring one of my favorite tropes, fake dating. I do think some of the situations we improperly resolved but with these characters being in high school, that is to be expected in a sense. I appreciate the topics discussed within the story, including a parent making a mistake... I just don't believe
infidelity
is a "mistake" that I would be willing to forgive so easily. Especially the hotel scene?? Like I'm sorry you invited
your mf mistress
to an event you knew your family would be attending?!?! I mean what the actual f*ck was going through this "man's" brain??!

This book discussed the grief that comes with the loss of relationship with a parent. I don't see this featured in YA literature much, if at all, which I thought was important for the young adult audience to see. There is a side character that briefly discusses still discovering their sexuality, which I think is yet another important topic featured in YA lit.

Anyway, aside from the drama provided by the love interests family, I thought the romance developing from fake dating was really sweet.

**I recommend for fans of Jenny Han & Kasie West**

Imagine attending your aunt's funeral & finding out she left you millions of dollars through her estate, but the catch is you have to marry a complete stranger to receive your inheritance! A marriage of inconvenience ensues..

Xeni was a stand out character for me in book one of this series, Rafe, so I was happy to see her own love story because she exuded main character energy from the moment she was introduced. I love seeing bisexual rep of the MC and the love interest. Mason is a plus sized Scottish brogue who plays the bagpipes and teaches Xeni how he likes to be p3gg3d?! I mean... this is the first I've read about it and tbh I am not mad at it.

The romance between Xeni and Mason was extra sweet with skittles on top. I will definitely be reading more from Rebekah Weatherspoon because I have been missing out on her fantastic love stories!!!!

Tj Klune had me in an emotional chokehold through out this entire series, and for that, I say thank you!!!

This last book in the series follows Carter's love story with Gavin, who we first meet in Ravensong, but learn more about his true identity in Heartsong. The romance we see bloom to life throughout Brothersong is just *chef's kiss* amazing.

Although this book, along with all the others in the Green Creek series are emotional and will break your heart along the way, Tj Klune also serves up the humor! Even though you are crying from devastation, you could also be laughing at any given moment. The mastery of it is beyond great.

The actual way I would gladly give my life up for anyone in the Bennett pack! I just want to reach through the pages and give all of these bebe's a good long, tight hug.

Honestly this was such an incredible ending to a series! I'm tearing up just thinking about the journey each of these characters had to travel throughout their lives to get to the end of the Green Creek series. I cannot say enough about how every single member of the Bennett Pack will forever be imbedded into the threads of my soul. Thank you TJ for bringing these characters and this amazing story to life. I will never forget this incredible reading experience and am grateful to have read this with friends to cry with, laugh with and absolutely love this with.

Elizabeth has easily become one of my favorite literary characters of all time. This short story made me emotional- as per usual with this entire series.

I am terrified, yet excited to continue with the final book of the Green Creek series. I hope my heart can take whatever is to come next.

"They enjoyed the glamor but not the gore, not knowing that the gore was what gave the glamour its gleam."

I don't often reach for short story collections, but I am sure glad to have picked this one up! Love in Color is a collection of both mythological reimaginings, and newly crafted stories which was an absolute delight- packed with female empowerment and lots & lots of love.

The story of Nefertiti is one that will stick with me and I look forward to what the author has in store with their future works.
